I think it's something we all hate to hear but give it time. You're not losing any new potential friends just because you didn't make them in the first few days of school. Everyone must be awkward and concerned about themselves and maybe no one is open to make friends just yet. Some people are from out of the area too and they don't even know the area. But hey...one of the best options is to make friends is join a club and get involved.
It's going to be like this for all of us though...alone and new. We're all in the same boat :(
The thing I always do when I have to stay somewhere for a long period is to unpack my crap, get everything there, stand in the middle of the room and just kinda mantra to myself that this is my new home. Not my house or my crash spot, my home. Seems to make things go smoother.
I'm sure you can survive not having any friends at school (YET) and being a bit far from Saco.
I've never gone to college, but I know how it feels to be in a new place with no friends. I've done that about 89 times in the past year and believe me, the first couple weeks are shitty. But you'll meet new people eventually and the whole tedious process of life will go on :]
aw Marth. it will get better, it's always weird at first, do you remember freshman year when I came home for Rosh Hashanah AND yom kippur? that was not a coincidence. I guess you probably can't come down this weekend but Walden Pond is waiting!
I hated UVM the first two weeks. HATED. It does get better. I didnt'r eally make friends til a few weeks into school so I know it's so weird at first but it probably will get better. If not you can just work with Sean at Whole Foods! but then you'd have to get drunk and high allll the time because you can't have fun otherwise! hahaha. i love you marth, and remember, regina is but a mere 5 weeks away!
