It's been a funny day...
(and no I haven't been trying to put my head in any nurse's ample chest!)
I've had hugs and congratulations and a bunch of flowers and lots of comments of "we'll miss you" or "you'll be a loss to the department" ... I'm not going to be leaving for 3 months - they've plenty of time to get sick of me! (plus I need to ACTUALLY put my notice in, which I'm not going to do until I get a formal offer letter in the post).
On a completely unrelated note (well it's slightly related to the 'Open All Hours' reference above) ... 2 comments about evil Tescos:
1) Why do Tescos think Mothers Day should be pink??? - My mum hated pink....
2) if they're trying to encourage people to use other bags instead of carrier bags, why is their policy not to give you "green points" when you buy one of their re-usable bags until the next time you use it??? - fortunately, the lady at the customer desk agreed with me that it was silly when I asked about it and gave me 2 points!!
