No Big Deal?

I am an office manager for a handful of of restaurants of a fast-food chain. It is my responsibility to not only make sure that the office runs smoothly but that the managers of said restaurants get everything they need. I work my ass off doing this. Most of the managers and assistant managers respect me to some small degree ( Read more... )

IMHO that's beyond rude - it's rather disturbing that someone would even consider doing that. You're not even supposed to hand out cards in front of people who aren't getting any - asking the one uninvited person to hand them out for you is...really, really weird. It's like she's trying to get back at you for something, but in a very dramatic and bitchy way.

The problem is that I have no idea what she could be "getting back at me" about! We've always been polite to each other and all. I've mulled it over for quite a while and the only reason I could come up with was a very mild disagreement over her cell phone bill ( ... )

It obviously makes no sense, which is why I find it so disturbing.

People are...strange.

I think she's a bitch. First off all, she's using company resources and company time (you) to do her personal business, which is fine as long as she doesn't bring other people into it, but you could have gotten in trouble for distributing "personal" stuff on company time ( ... )

heh, I feel the same way. It's unfortunate that I'm sometimes too damn nice for my own good :P

It's a breach of etiquette if nothing else... and if Miss Manners doesn't think so (I didn't check) then it's still rude, or at least inconsiderate.

It is, but strangely no one else seems to think so. I guess they hear the "I probably wouldn't have gone to her wedding anyway" part and tune out everything else. *shrugs*

I don't think she realizes how upset I am over this. I don't like making a scene, and she's not worth it :P From the polite way she acts around me every other time, I'm starting to wonder if she honestly does not see anything wrong with this and wasn't intending to be malicious. It still stings, though.

lol, that's funny :P If only that did happen. This may sound really mean, but considering her questionable fiance and the fact that her wedding will be this coming July (yes, almost a year away!) I would be surprised if she's still having a wedding by then.
