Taken from miladygrey, a list of women sf/fantasy writers. There were quite a few I hadn't heard of, which was kind of surprising. Maybe they write fantasy? I read much more science fiction than fantasy. Also, I added a few writers to the end of the list (I was horrified that Joan Slonczewski wasn't already represented).

The Guardian has posted a list of some of the worst books of the decade, which got me thinking about what I'd say the worst books of the decade were. I've read about a million books this year, what with studying for comprehensive exams and reading for classes and getting to do a tiny bit of reading for fun, and I thought I should look back over what I've read in 2008 and see what stands out. I've already read the ones that are in bold and will soon have read the ones in italics. That puts me at a 26% rate thus far and, by tomorrow, 27%. I've gotta be honest--I was hoping for a higher number than that.

In my internet ramblings, I happened across RottenTomatoes.com's list of top 100 SF moviesIt's kind of an odd list, it seems.
