Fledgling

I'm not sure what to say about Octavia Butler's Fledgling. It, like her other novels, is about physical difference (vampires, in this case, and genetic experimentation), race, and power relations. It is a well-told and interesting story. I never got bored while reading it, and I really wanted to finish it and find out what happens.

But still, it isn't as theoretically or philosophically interesting as her earlier novels. Hmm...It seems I'll have to give this one some more thought.
