The Shadow of the Torturer
I don't really have much to say about Gene Wolfe's The Shadow of the Torturer. I just could not get into this book. The style put me off, I didn't care about the characters, and the plot is somewhat episodic and doesn't really take off even by the end of the book since this is the first in a series. On top of all of that, I didn't really care for the way Wolfe's female characters were presented, either.
