Music poem meme time. Why is it that every time one of these comes up, I really should be studying or doing something more productive? Gah. Anyway:
Music player on shuffle. First twenty songs' first line is the body of the poem/song. Twenty-first is the title.
This is seriously better than anything I have ever written. Seriously, some of the combinations are frighteningly poignant. And the last line is ace.
The Eraser
A moment of silence, please,
all it takes is a little bit: a gleam or a glimmer.
I know the dark days are back,
sprawling on the fringes of the city in geometric order.
Cato, mess with my head, I won't know the difference:
stay out super late tonight pickin' apples, makin' pies.
Decided to sneak off away from your stomach,
the most evident utensil is none other than a pencil.
Load up on guns and bring your friends,
BUST IT!
(Well it woulda been coulda been worse than you would ever know:
no one knows what it's like to be the bad man.)
A winter's day in a deep and dark December:
hey hey hey, Mr. Hangman, go get your rope.
I'd rather go and pick some of those wild strawberries.
Prepare your shoes not to come back soon.
And when I see the sign that points one way,
in the blizzard of '77 the cars were just lumps on the snow.
