Alost 1/2 way to my goal

Okay so I know I haven't updated in awhile. So let me give you a brief overview of what's been gong on. 1. I have still been losing weight and working out religiously, 2. The boat is up north so I enjoy spending time on it. 3. I had a setback with my left eye this time 4. I went to Canada last weekend.

Yes I am still working out and up to 57 lbs lost. I'm thrilled as this last week I lost 4 pounds. Another 3 pounds and I'm at the halfway point. I actually went out with my parents last night finally to celebrate 30 pounds lost. I can't tell you how great I feel from having lost the weight and I'm still going. I'll keep you updated. Another 9 pounds and I break the 200 mark which I'm thrilled about.

My parents made it north with the boat so I spend most weekends down there. This weekend we are taking it out and going to Fogland. I can't wait. Two weeks form now we are heading to Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard on vacation. It's going to be a lot of fun.

So three weeks ago I started having eye problems. My vision was blurry. I don't want to mess with it since I only have one good eye. I had just seen my regular doctor so I wasn't too concerned until Thursday night I started not being able to read the subtitles on the TV's at the gym or the wording on the restaurants menus. I thought I was just tired and having allergy issues but Friday morning it got worse. I could barely see the speedometer in my car and when I got to work I was really panicking and couldn't read my e-mails or anything. Thursday I had made an appointment to see my retina specilist the following THursday but Friday I decided I couldn't wait and immediately got an appointment to see him. My mom came with me which was good thing as it looks like the same thing was happening. My left eye now has a crack in the retina and new blood vessels were forming and popping and blood was in my eye. The good thing was I caught it early so it was the week it happened, they have a new drug which has been around for 2 years and has been getting a lot of great results, and three it's not dead center like my right eye is. So after getting both eyes dilated, an injection of yellow dye in my arm so they can take pictures it was decided I would get the needle in the eye treatment. I went into the other room and was told step by step what he was doing. It was scary but I somehow made it through and it's a good thing as I now have to repeat it once every month for the next six to seven months. I go in at the end of this month for my second dose. As a result of this Abbey and I weren't able to go to the BnL concert in Lewiston, NY as we didn't think it would be good for me to fly as I had a whole in my eye where not one but two needles had passed and was on antibiotics. I had to put antibiotic drops in my eye four times a day for four days. I was very upset the entire weekend and didn't know how I was going to continue on. I made it through and I feel like some of my eye sight has come back but we'll see.

This past weekend Abbey and I flew up to Buffalo and then went to Niagara on the lake to see Steven Page sing at Jackson Triggs. It was a great concert even though we got wet, although Abbey was being nice and went to get me water (I can't help it these days I drink so much of it) so she missed out on most of the rain but I decided oh well there isn't much I can do and got wet. We did miss the worst of it when we went to grab dinner and I actually tried Salmon. It was pretty good too. something I would consider ordering.

I hope everybody had a great fourth of July. Mine was okay as I spent the day working. Well I'm off to bed as I'm exhausted and have a full day today with a concert tomorrow night. I"m seeing Tim and Faith.
