trying not to look down the tunnel

May 12, 2007 14:33

well, i have seven minutes left on my alloted internet time at this cafe in bangkok, so i thought i should turn to livejournal and update anyone who still thinks i'm alive on where my life is at.

early this morning i returned from a really great six weeks in the people's republic of china, and later today i shall be getting on a bus for 11 hours of leg-cramping agony to travel south to a city called nakhon si thammarat.

being out here has been great, but i am now oh-so-very-conscious of just how long it is before i return to britain (28 and a half days exactlyish). a combination of missing rosie, the growing disparity between south east asian and english summer weather, and just generally being away from places you have been used to frequenting for the past 22 years for over 3 months.

however, i am doing my best not to stare too hard at the light at the end of the tunnel, trying to squintily discern what might be on the other side of it, and instead enjoy watching the tunnel walls pass me by with increasing rapidity.
