Almost there?
Yesterday I transferred a far-from-inconsiderable of money to the solicitor to cover the deposit on the house. If all goes to plan, we may (may) be exchanging contracts towards the end of this week, which would probably mean a moving-in date of about 31st September. There's still room for this to be delayed, but I'm crossing everything crossable and touching anything wooden that I come across.
Of course the "moving-in date" doesn't mean we'll actually be moving in, since we'll probably take the opportunity to get some decorating done while there's no furniture in the way. Most of the house will probably be tolerable as-is, but I certainly don't plan to have the walls of my bedroom proudly proclaiming support for the England football team for any longer than is necessary (on account of me not being twelve, more than anything).
