“Ittekimasu!”
“Itterashai!” replied a sleepy Ryo by the couch with a cup of coffee.
“I’ll be home before lunch”
“Ne, Shige, you wanna go out for lunch then?”
“Sure, you can think of the place,” said Shige in the gekan, a freshly dry-cleaned suit in his hands.
“K then I’ll text you the place and tell me if you like it later.”

“Shit! I’m running late, that mock trial took longer than I expected.” Just then, his phone buzzed and the name ‘Ryo’ glowed on its front.
Smiling, Shige flipped his phone opened and was looking at the message when all of a sudden, “HONK HONK!!!!” Shige quickly looked up to see that the passenger light was red, and then looked to the left, a pair of head lights staring directly at him and made its way towards Shige.
I open my eyes
I try to see but I’m blinded by the white light

“Beep, beep, beep.”
This unfamiliar noise had woken Shige up and he could see nothing but a white light so blinding that no matter how many times he blinked or closed his eyes, he could still only see that light. The sound was eerie and repetitive what was that? He tried to sit up, but his body wouldn’t respond, it felt like his whole body was weighed down by something.
‘Why? Why can’t I move?! What’s all this? What’s happening to me?! WHERE THE HELL AM I?’

‘Again, this sound, where am I? I can’t remember what happened. This smell…this…this…bleachy smell, am I in the hospital?’
Everybody’s screamin’ I try to make a sound but no one hears me

So I try to hold onto a time when nothing mattered

“NO……….NO!” Ryo ran in as soon as he had heard the news from Johnny-san.
‘Ryo?’
“No no no no no no no, Shige wake up! Wake up! You promised me to lunch! Now get the hell off your ass and come to lunch with me! I’ll even pay damn it!” cried Ryo, tears streaming down his face, one of them dropping onto Shige’s face.
‘Ryo, why are you crying?’
“Ryo, you need to find his parents, they need to sign the consent form Ryo.”
“No! He can’t go off the machine Pi, he’ll be gone. No! I won’t let you!”

After a year, Ryo had finally agreed to take Shige off after multiple surgeries. When he was taken off, his chest had fallen for the last time and the monitor went to a steady beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep
