I've no idea how to record it to upload here or anything, but thought I'd share observations because I AM TOO EXCITED. No big spoilers, just a scene description that in my opinion, is significant...

Also what got me was... When Matthew's makes the hair comment "I hope you won't try that.." He just... LOOKS at Mary. And everyone else looks sort of slightly shocked, but it's like he's OBLIVIOUS... Idk... In my CRAZY head I even wonder if they've like, kissed or something already... That is RIDICULOUS I know, but... THE WAY HE LOOKS AT HER. It's like... They know something, they mean something, that the others aren't aware of. I am reading FAR TOO MUCH into this. But I'm almost sure it's after Violet's spoken to him. (Watch me get proved totally wrong now...)

Awwwwww!!! OMG, well what if he's just seeing her with new eyes now -- just...appreciating everything about her, and she doesn't know Violet has talked to him, so she's just doing her old "I'm going to gaze at you adoringly and you'll think it's just in friendship

To play devil's advocate (just because I am desperate for certainty about MM!!), I think the S1 press thing was rather ambiguous like this too, no? In the sense that that M & M were significant characters (as now), but that we didn't know what their obstacles would do to them.

L/C seem to be obstacles in human form IMO. But if M/M split NOW, it'll be just like at the end of S1, due to a "foolish" misunderstanding."

But this would all be in poor taste, of course. Because JF cannot be that dumb to make a couple WAIT 10 years!!!

I wasn't watching in S1, but I remember the press pack said NOTHING about M/M. DS even played dumb about it (or he really didn't know when interviews were conducted).

I agree it can't play out like it did in S1. It just makes no sense. L/C have to be gone by 2x08.

And it will have been ALMOST 10 YEARS, YES. Enough is ENOUGH. :D

Another random thought.

If (I can't check because hubby's nabbed the tv now!!) Violet and Matthew are in the same outfits in both scenes... Which I THINK they might be (my memory is SHOCKING)... Then it could be that Violet notices the way Matthew looks at Mary and then goes to talk to him afterwards, thinking there's a chance... I don't know!! Either could be possible... I AM JUST TOO EXCITED.

Also, Mary's wearing the blue strappy dress from the Radio Times cover :)

Ooh! Different scene! Mary's wearing red in the episodic stills at the dinner table (and afterwards in the library). OOH! And Violet is wearing something different than she is in her "Mary is still in love with you" scene!!!

Boy, do you think the dinner table/library/Lavinia-let-go-of-his-hand scenes are -- before or after Violet's scene? THAT is the question now, IMO...
