Random notes on ITV's Downton Abbey BTS special!
Eeeeeeeeeeee I AM SO EXCITED FOR SUNDAY.
I've no idea how to record it to upload here or anything, but thought I'd share observations because I AM TOO EXCITED. No big spoilers, just a scene description that in my opinion, is significant...
They showed a clip from a scene, discussing fashion. After dinner. Something like this...
Mary: Have you seen the boys haircuts the women are wearing in Paris?
Matthew: I hope you won't try that... (OMG THE WAY HE LOOKS AT HER)
(SHOCKED FACES from everyone)
Mary: I might!
Lavinia: (Looking worried) I'm not sure how feminine it is...
Mary: I'm not sure how feminine I am!
Carlisle: Very, I'm glad to say.
(And I SWEAR at this point, Mary looks at Matthew sort of... knowingly?)
Ok, ok, that's a very rough paraphrase. But just judging from THE FACES, I'm wondering if it's AFTER Violet's conversation with Matthew. The way he looks at her.... Sheesh. And Lavinia DEFINITELY seems to look worried by them.
Also, they showed a little more of Violet's scene with Matthew, saying she feels she must tell him something - it is definitely Matthew's bedroom, and Bates shows Violet in (interesting...?)
Anyway, Violet: This may come as a suprise... but I fear I must say it all the same.
Matthew: Please, do.
Violet: Mary is still in love with you.
Matthew: :-O What? (In the most ADORABLY tiny voice EVER)
Ok, ok, must calm down. I must. I just.... CANNOT WAIT now. CANNOT. WAIT.
Also, Dan Stevens is JUST. ADORABLE. Talking about servants, he said he was trying to train his daughter to bring him tea, but she's not even two yet, so probably unwise. Then, "One day, we'll have servants... I mean daughters! I mean - yeah." LOVE.
