“I didn’t force you to wear flannel, I would have been perfectly happy if you’d gone around naked.”

I burst out laughing when Wesley said that. I was so surprised he'd admitted it that I couldn't do much else - least of all be indignant about the fact that he liked me being naked.

“I can’t believe I said that,” he muttered, clearing his throat.

"Me either," I giggled, wiping very different tears from my eyes this time. God, I loved him. It was weird to go from the very crushing kind of heartbreak to laughter five minutes later... But it had always been like that, hadn't it? We'd learned to make ourselves smile no matter how much things hurt. It was... It was what we did.

“Anyway, I’ll try to be… whomever I am. For you, alright? I just want you to know that if you ever need someone to talk to that you can come to me as well.”I grew a little more serious then and leaned forward, brushing my lips against his again. "I know, Wesley," I said softly, "I always have. And trust me, if I ever need someone? You'll be the first I run ( ... )

From tear to laughter, it was an amazing ability, but it was one I only had with Cordelia. I could never stay angry with her for long. Not even when she’d never came to me when Angel had cast his verdict and declared me the betrayer of all betrayers. Oh I had been angry with her, angrier then I’d ever been before. But my anger at her was long gone before I even considered not being angry at the rest anymore. I’ve no idea why, but now that I had all the facts, I knew. Deep down I had known something was wrong with Cordelia and I didn’t have to guts to do something about it ( ... )

I didn't blame him for not wanting to leave quite yet. Our plan had been to come here, get some stuff and get gone. His little breakdown hadn't exactly been set in stone until I'd pushed.

"I could always drive us," I offered, "But since you wince every time I turn a corner in your precious car, I'd say you've been through enough for one night." I smiled slightly when I said that. He was nowhere near Angel in the being anal retentive over his car stakes, but he was getting there.

“Do you want to take a shower first?”

I shook my head. "I'm okay, Wes. I had one this morning, remember?" My cheeks warmed slightly as I said that. I'd offer to shower with him but, uhm, yeah... Showering? Wasn't exactly top priority when you were in it with someone else.

"You go," I smiled, dropping a kiss on his forehead, "I'll see if I can find us something to eat from somewhere-- And DON'T say you're not hungry. You're eating." I told him firmly.

Did I remember her taking a shower this morning? Did I ever, good lord. And yes, there was that stupid goofy smile sliding on my face as I recalled our ‘shower’. Though, we did get cleaned up. Eventually. There was something about that shower that was nagging in the back of my mind, but I couldn’t put my finger on it. So I left it, though that would usually annoy me until I figured it out. I had far more important things to worry about ( ... )

The smile that slid across his face, the way his ears turned a little pink? They made me grin like nothing else could. I'd be lying if I said even the thoughts of what we'd done in the shower weren't affecting me but that wasn't what either of us needed, not right now.

Right now we needed a shower - well, some of us - a good night's sleep and something to eat since all I'd had since I'd come back was chocolate, chocolate-on-Wesley and a little strawberry ice cream. And he-- Whiskey. And vodka, I think. Liquid diet, thy name was Wesley.

“Maybe something light, but only for you, because I’m *really* not hungry.”"Fine, something light," I conceded, though what I was going to cook was beyond me. I kinda sucked at that. "Your microwave still works, right?" If all else failed I could nuke-- Something. Wesley nodded and dropped another kiss on my forehead, making his way to the bathroom ( ... )

My microwave, of course I still had that one. My fist big purchase in big grand America. Well, after my motor bike that is. And that one is long gone, unfortunately, but I still had the microwave. It saved my life more then once, in the means that it usually was the only way I got a hot meal. When it came to cooking I was *worse* then Cordelia and her brownies. Though, I had to wonder if I had any food, we’d only gotten ‘comfort food’ yesterday ( ... )

Was he stalling?

I stayed at the door for a moment, trying to hear over the sounds of the water. If he was crying, Wes probably wouldn't let me see... And I could open the door but that was going a little bit too far ( ... )

Waiting for her reply, I held my breath while hot water was beating down my body. When it finally came, I let it out slowly, feeling more then a little guilty. I had promised her to not hide anything. But I figured since nothing *really* had happened, it wasn’t technically hiding. Though she did sound somewhat disappointed when she said she’d go order us some food ( ... )

I noticed him eyeing the vodka. It was pretty hard not to when he was looking at it like it was the answer to everything. It wasn't - we both knew that - but a little escapism never hurt anybody, sometimes.

“He hasn’t? What a daft but fortunate thing to do. We should probably take advantage of that while it lasts.”

"You so don't have to tell me twice," I murmured, warming my hands on the coffee mug. I wasn't cold or anything, but it had got a little chilly in here. I'd get up and change the thermostat once our food came.

“You’ve made tea?”I smiled at the way Wes' eyes lit up. Typical British guy, solving everything with tea. "I did," I nodded, "Probably not the way you like it or anything, but I tried ( ... )

“We could go all out,” I mused, wrapping my hands around the mug of tea. It was still hot, warming up my cold hands rapidly. I sat back on the sofa and lifted one arm to let Cordelia curl up against me. It was such a natural thing to do, I didn’t even think about it twice. “We could by a mobile home,” I snickered and then paused ( ... )

I almost spat my coffee all over when Wes suggested we buy a mobile home. I'd been leaning against his chest quite comfortably, then he went ahead and said something like that.

"Uhm, sweetie? Please tell me you're kidding..." I said, searching his eyes. He couldn't really be serious, could he? "'Cause... I mean, I love you, Wes but... Seriously, a mobile home?" Could we get more 70's? They were disgusting! And who wanted to pee in something that had a two-foot toilet?

I turned back to my coffee, severely traumatised, and took another sip as Wesley drank his tea. I didn't hear him choking - or any other sounds of him, like, dying or anything, so I took it to mean that my tea wasn't actually bad but when I looked at him? He looked like Angel had when I'd been trying something and put in some cinnamon.

“I’ve no bloody idea. North. Wat’s in the north? Or do you want to try south? It’s warmer there.”I shrugged, sipping my coffee and wondering how long he'd keep up pretending that my tea was actually *nice*. "Warm actually ( ... )

Sweetie? I think my face may have broken in half when she said that. Which was utterly ridiculous for all I’ve been referring to her in term of endearment myself. But it just seemed to warm my stomach and move up to my chest. I did have to laugh at the look of horror that came across her face when I mentioned the mobile home ( ... )

His face took on this weird look when I called him sweetie. I just smiled. He'd called me 'love' enough times over the past two days to give me the serious happy - and unlike other terms of endearment that would just feel forced? Sweetie wasn't one of them.

I was relieved when he said that we didn't have to really buy the trailer thing. Even more relieved that he laughed. "Thank God," I murmured, shaking my head, "For a moment there I thought you were gonna make me pee in one of those things and, I gotta tell you, Wes. That just rates way up there on the eww-o-eter." One thing I prided myself on? Was the fact that I'd never EVER been in one of those things. I intended to keep it that way.

“Well the south it is then. We can be like geese.”

Geese? I glanced at him from over my coffee cup, smirking as he swallowed yet another sip of the disgusting liquid I called tea. "Y'know, you can throw that down your sink, dumbass," I told him, smirking, "I won't even be *that* offended..."

“I’m not thin, I’m just build that way. That ( ... )

“It still would be more useful then moving from hotel to hotel. And some of these things can be quite luxurious. Far better then some motel rooms I’ve stayed in while I was busy making an arse out of myself during my Rogue Demon Hunter days ( ... )

Okay, so he had a point. One big trailer thing would be more cost-efficient than moving from hotel to hotel. We wouldn't be spending as much money... And it meant we could move about as we pleased.

But still-- A trailer? There were jokes about homes like those, damnit... And had he just said we could get an apartment somewhere? "That's my guy." I grinned, nudging his knee with mine. If he really wanted me to consider one, I would. Perhaps under protest, but yeah, I would ( ... )

Still muttering under my breath about annoying women who though they bloody rules the world, I prepared myself some proper tea. How hard is it to boil water and then *not* use those horrid tea bags? I mean, tea *bags*? Good lord, how far the mighty have fallen. I listened to Cordelia getting up to answer the door and moved to get the napkins as she told me to. I paused at the things in my hands and then snorted. As she told me to do ( ... )
