OMG so awesome. *dives right in* Thank you for this! Especially for the vid recs. I'm usually not that into vids, but there's something about River Song that just inspires awesome vidding. IDK. (And LFN as well, of course, because of your awesome vids.)
I'm really glad that you liked the recs!! There is an awesome River/Donna fic floating around the net that I have bookmarked, but I couldn't find it amongst my other Donna bookmarks. If I stumble upon it, I will update this post.

You should totally make a River vid! If I can make a vid, you can most definitely make an awesome River vid.
Oh, I would love to, but I'm afraid my vidding skills aren't quite up to par. Although you seem to have gotten the hang of it--I remember you telling me that vidding had defeated you, and then two weeks later you popped out this work of great art. What program do you use? I sort of screwed around with Windows Movie Maker, but I'm notoriously bad at most technical things and since I couldn't even figure out the "vidding program for dummies," I think I might be a lost cause.
Honestly, a lot of the technical things you can ignore. I really have no idea why vidders use certain programs and filters, but I just kind of bummed around until I found what they were talking about and I figured it out from there. I think that you will have no problems once you get started.
A lot of how you get started vidding is based in how you are getting your clips. If you are just downloading the episodes from a filesharing network or some other kind of digital format, you can start using the program VirtualDubMod (these are Wikipedia links, which have links to download the software if you are interested); The only thing else you will need is some sort of compression software like Divx. VirtualDubMod basically converts the episode into a usable file for your vid making software like Windows Movie Maker, Sony Vegas, Adobe Premiere. The compression software makes the clip's file size fairly manageable. You compress the files when you are using the VirtualDubMod program
