SEVENTH ENTRY

Tonight was yet another club night. After posting the previous message (with a link to the "I WANT YOU" image) to the lovelist, we got 3 people out to the club to pass things around like a bad std. "Adam Fore" got there about the same time i did, and he hung out with the table most of the time. When shows are very not busy, i dont like working the table as much since i feel like it sort of gets in the way of my job. my job being to promote the station. people dont always come to the table, so sometimes you need to take the table to the people.

tonight, however, we easily had the most negative experience with club night to date. it manifested itself in this middle-aged looking guy with long brown hair and a negative attitude. ive talked to people before at club night who were not interested or whatever, but this guy was just a waste of space. totally made me feel like not talking to anyone else anymore. people can be such downers. i was almost that teacher you had back in grade school, or whatever generic authority figure that deemed it best to punish everyone for one person's transgressions. (for the record, i think religions should use the word "transgressions" more since the word "sins" just sounds so much cooler. i bet youd think twice before committing "transgressions".) nevertheless, tonight was mostly used to promote our upcoming benefit that is on saturday, "dub and skate" at skateworld at 10 pm, july 10th. it is 7 dollars and byob, no glass containers. our skateworld benefits are always fun, so i hope the people who were all interested in being there will actually come.

the first band that played was pretty good. i enjoyed their set, and they were pretty good people. however, the music just went downhill from there, with each band getting progressively worse. i left early, so i dont know how the headlining band played, i couldnt take anymore and everyone that was going to get my spiel about the benefit had gotten it at that point.

there are no more club nights until the 27th of july.

after the show, i stopped by the station and recorded in the buisness department volunteer hour log that "adam fore" and "matt waltrip" and "matt waltrip's cohost, mithun pal" all came out and volunteered. for "adam"'s i wrote that he "played it up big at club night" or something to that effect. i'm going to try to make sure that my entries into the volunteer log will have a bit more excitement than "tabling at emos" or something to that effect.

other important news is that we are in some sort of litigation for the fall with some unknown entity, where our sports department will be doing play by plays for high school football games in the area. this benefits club night because this deal will supposedly allow us the use of some sort of swanky remote broadcast unit, which we could use at club night to broadcast live music, as well as make remote broadcasts on location.

additionally, i heard back from "chris grady", however, he is only free on thursday, and my family and my aunt from new york who i havent seen for a couple of years are coming to visit that day, so our buisness will have to be postponed further.

tomorrow is another beerland benefit. madamimadam is playing with zom zoms and lumberob. it is 21+ and 5 dollars. music should probably start at 10 or something. andrew is going to do a remote to his show i think.

for the record, i have stated that the high school football broadcasts are most definitely not part of the domain of club night and all that entails. also, i need to create a new box because the current one is not only a bit too large to comfortably carry, but it is quickly taking abuse. the new box will most assuredly say "IMPORTANT" on it, for obvious reasons. and finally, word on the street is that i may be acquiring a new banner to replace the horribly ugly one that we currently have in the club night box that wont stay up anywhere you put it.
