Work & Plague & Miscellaneous

I get the notification from Snapfish that they've received my film, and then I start compulsively refreshing the window, hoping to see images from the three rolls of film I took at Donny & Anne's wedding start popping up. Refresh. Refresh. Hmm, still not there.

Lemme see, what's going on in my life right now?

The Mad Scientist has been sick for a couple of days, running a fever and generally feeling "floomy", as he puts it. "Floomy" translates as hyper/delirious/wonky. He's actually rather entertaining when he's sick, right up to the point where I hit my limit for grown men acting like six-year-olds. I'm sure some women feel incredibly nurturing when they are in the presence of their sick menfolk. Me, I'm not one of them. I can kinda fake it, though!

Work has been Minnesota-interesting. At Job #1, I got some retroactive corrections to a massive project that was nearly done, resulting in another day working on it and a fair amount of (deserved) grumbling in the ranks. And tomorrow I've got an appointment to get dragged over the rug for not being magically telepathic and getting it all sorted out from the beginning...when, in the beginning, I was on vacation and nowhere near. Snarl. I think I've been doing a damn good job, compared to how things were handled before, but there's still procedures to set in place and territorial battles to wage. Shink...shink... Don't mind me, I'm just sharpening my knives....

Job #2 has been going better. Had a very good meeting that actually got me deadlines and schedules for a bunch of projects, so I got to set up a nice spreadsheet and prioritize and figure out what needs to get done when. Yay for clarity! Boundaries are farely squooshy there, too. That's good and bad--I tend to push boundaries of authority/responsibility as naturally as I breathe (ENTJ--field marshall type, that's me), and I can become quite grandiose when nothing's pushing back, particularly if I'm in a manic mood. Fortunately, those circumstances do not usually coexist at work.

My, that was some digression.

So my plan is to go in to work at Job #1 tomorrow, for finishing up huge project and getting raked over coals purposes, and then to take my laptop to the library on Friday, for research for Job #2 (high-speed internet crucial when doing research) and writing purposes. Also, for avoiding sick Mad Scientist purposes. That's right--I now have two jobs that offer me some work-from-home options. Nice. I gotta get more research gigs from Job #2.

Also got my flu shot today. Everyone around me seems to be sick. Literally. Of course, the shot won't kick in for two weeks, and now I've got weird muscle aches. Of course, I'm rather used to muscle aches, thanks to Tae Soo Do! I'm to the point where I feel weird/worried when I don't have at least some sore muscles. Heh.
