Phil is a brave man. Not only does he play with toxic, explosive, and intoxicating chemicals all day, he comes home to...well...me. He tolerates (claims to want, even) my constant presence, helps keep me sane (an extra job in and of itself), has sex with me on a regular basis (some have found the idea scary), and even eats my cooking (Taste this! I say).
Ingredients:
1 lb. ground beef
5 cloves jalapeno-pickled garlic
1/2 large onion
1/4 c. water
1/4 c. barbecue sauce
1/4 c. A-1 or other steak sauce
3 vigorous splashes Worcestershire Sauce
Small can tomato sauce.
Curry powder
Garlic powder
Kosher salt
3 Tbsp. ketchup
Kosher salt
1 1/2 tsp. beef bouillon powder
Dill pickle juice
1 carrot
Cook time: about 45 min. minimum
Calories: God only knows.
Brown 1 lb. ground beef. Add 1/2 minced large yellow onion and 5 minced jalapeno-pickled garlic cloves. Sautee until, y'know, sauteed and all that jazz.
Combine:
1/4 c. water
1/4 c. barbecue sauce
1/4 c. A-1 or other steak sauce
3 vigorous splashes Worcestshire Sauce (still can't believe it's pronounced "Wooster"--seems like cheating)
Open small can tomato sauce.
Alternate adding tomato sauce and water/sauces mixture to browned onions&meat until nearly correct consistency for sloppy joes (should be some remaining). Add 1 grated (medium-fine setting) carrot.
Let simmer 10 min.
Add 4 shakes curry powder, five shakes of garlic powder, dash of kosher salt, three long squirts of ketchup (about 2-3 Tbsp), 1 1/2 tsp. beef bouillon powder. Stir together.
Let simmer 5 min.
Add large splash (about 4 Tbsp??) dill pickle juice.
Simmer at least another 15 minutes, or until your significant other comes home from playing with toxic chemicals--stir every 8 minutes or so, adding sauce mixture and tomato sauce as needed to maintain consistency.
