we had to write a sonnet:

Sonnet #infinite

Oh, stubborn mind, opponent of the heart,
Protector of that fragile entity
Which, until now, reason never did part,
Saved it and me from injury to be.
A heart lacking its lover’s love potion,
Though ventricles support the rhythmic pump,
Does not put forth an amorous motion
But reason in the empty veins does clump.
And in the heart, whose job is just to love
And be that which binds true love’s counterparts,
Restrictions from thy neighbor close above
Prevent the creation of such an art.
Though before now I may have been content
Your love is an elixir, heaven sent.

ps: happy thanksgiving, everyone!
