More updates
Many thanks to those of you sending thoughts and well-wishes. And advice! I think I will be sending along a second app for that Minnesota job...
And I promise I won't be sending hour-by-hour updates...but the little hamster survived the night. In fact, when I went to find him this morning to give him his medication, he had climbed from where I had put him on the bottom of his cage up a foot-long *vertical* tube to get to a different area of the cage, where he had hoarded a bunch of food. Again, he took his antibiotics and hamster pain dope with relatively good grace and drank a ton of water when I held the bottle up to him (I think it was too much trouble for him to go down and get a drink).
So barring any developing secondary infections, it looks like he's doing great!!! Huzzah for happy rodent karma!!
