Sorting, soreness, and ensuing crankiness

Huzzah! So, in other words, no different from the game...

In other news...there's not a lot. Got a "Thank you but no thank you" job rejection letter (from Asheville, which is sad because I'd heard great things about it as a place to live, but not so bad because I wasn't 100% positive about that job as a personal fit for me anyway). Good news, however: my broken-legged friend got the OK from her physical therapist to drive herself up to Indy, so double hooray for her getting better and me getting my days back!

So, since I am a glutton for punishment, what did I do with my first evening off?--went back to my beloved step class. For those of you here in Bloomington: the instructor is Abby, at the SRSC, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4-5:15. She's amazing. If, by "amazing", you mean "brutal." Or better yet, "perky but brutal." I don't know how group exercise instructors do it. It's like giving Tinkerbell a bullwhip. But seriously, she runs a great class if you like step.

(Actually, I do know how group exercise instructors do it, having had one for my first college roommate. They are so cheerful because they get to EAT, ANYTHING THEY WANT, ALL THE TIME. And drink quite heavily on the weekends. And still look great. I'd be cheerful too. But believe me, when they are getting up to teach their 6am class, they are NOT cheerful. In the slightest. Try rabid tasmanian devil, as they spin about the room in a cloud of flying profanities, sports bras and athletic sneakers and snarling rhetorical questions--albeit quietly; she was actually a really great roommate--about how anyone could want to be awake at all at that hour, much less be hopping around the gym like a kangaroo on speed.)

And lo, the gnome was not in as adequate shape for putting two risers on the step as she had presumed she was. And there was much mourning. And sadness. And oh so very much pain. And skinny sowhority girls cursed for no good reason.

So that is why, for those of you eagerly awaiting my induction into the WoWing masses, there will be no character creation tonight. I am stiffening up as I sit unmoving in the chair, and the crankiness is ensuing.

And the totally crappy part is that my bathtub takes over an hour to fill. Seriously. It's the only really bad thing about the house. So I can't even take a nice hot bath and soak it out. Woe is me...

But as previously stated, the crankiness is ensuing, so I am off to go take it out on my long-suffering husband. Good night, all...I'm off to pop some ibuprofen.
