Happy V-day, all...and happy-anti-Vday if you're not really celebrating...
J and I are low-key this year. He got a snow day off of work, and I got a day off because the power was out at the house I work at. So we puttered around on the computer a little bit, and ran through our Tai Chi in the afternoon (we've started Monday night lessons); I worked out with some DDR, and we had sandwiches and soup on the couch.
We watched the first couple of discs of an HBO series called Carnivale, that we rented from Netflix. We were really pleased; there's still a lot of stuff to learn about the characters--it's one of those where little bits of plot, of character backstories and of how the world and magic work, are revealed gradually as the show rolls along. The characters themselves are very interesting and for the most part believable, and I think the show captures the 1930s Dust Bowl aura really well. Not a lot has been done in that time period, and it's been fascinating to see. We've only seen the first two discs (4 episodes), but we're really wanting to see more. (To
buzzermccain: if you want to see it, let me know, because we're really wanting to send these back to Netflix so we can get the next episodes, but I know you said you were very interested, and it's well worth the viewing. So if you're wanting to see it, call or email and we'll set up a date! And if anyone else here in town is interested, I'd be happy to host if anyone wants to come see it...)
J is off at his evening meeting now, having had considerable difficulty in getting his car out of the driveway. I am preparing for my job interview tomorrow morning...I am telephone interviewing at the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum in St Michaels MD, so as usual, any job karma sent along would be appreciated :)
Have a good one all...
