Hello all,
Things are holding steady here in Gnomeland. Not going particularly well, but we're not in serious debt or have any bad medical issues or anything like that.
But the two things I told myself I was going to do better about this year that I have so far been doing well on are:
1) Sucking it up, instead of posting huge whiny emo novels on LJ, and
2) Being relatively good about diet and exercise.
I'm not doing so well with 3) getting my sleep schedule back on track, 4) keeping up with the non-nail-biting, 5) keeping my hostility in check, and 6) giving the house a good thorough purge and scrubbing. But you take what you can get. At least the dishes and laundry get done. (Most of the time....)
At any rate, I've been considering setting up a couple of new filters. One is, cheesy as it sounds (mmmmmm...cheese...), an overall body check-in one. I've been doing pretty well so far, I've been getting 40-75 minutes of some sort of exercise 6 days a week and watching my calories. So far, it seems to be working acceptably well; the pants that were snug before Christmas have gotten to where they fit much more nicely, and hopefully soon will be getting loose. But my ultimate goal is to drop 50 pounds by next New Year's, and to do that long-term I thought I might mooch off you guys for support and check-in on how things have been going in that arena. However, since I know this topic is not everyone's primary area of interest, I thought that I would set up a filter to include anyone who IS interested...
The other one I was thinking about is more of a "thoughtful" one, for lack of a better term. I've been doing a lot of introspection lately, particularly late at night when I can't sleep (irritable sleepy 2:00am J says that I don't-sleep very loudly), and thinking about a lot of issues, trying to clarify my thoughts and philosophies on things both big and small. I will definitely set up a filter on anything that I post on those topics, but it is likely to be long (though I will put it behind a cut if it is TOO long). If anyone wants to be included on those, I'm glad to do that, too.
Hope that everyone's January has gone well and continues to do so....
