"was invited to move out to california by tc. it feels weird that my biggest reason for going is also my biggest reason for not going."

I mean, it's crazy, right? Packing up and moving 3,000 miles across the country to follow a guy, that's completely nuts, isn't it? But a big part of me was drawn to the idea of doing something so exciting, so uncharacteristically bold, and my choices seemed limited to going with him and being left behind, so I found myself considering the invitation a little more seriously each time it was issued.
I've lived in Ohio since I was six. Most of my friends and family live here, and I've never lived more than an hour away from the small town I grew up in. Most recently, I'd been living with my ex-boyfriend's brother and his girlfriend, plus their two toddlers, and to say that I was unhappy with my roommates would have been to grossly understate the whole situation. I wanted to get out of Grove City, and TC, the guy I'd been seeing, had been planning to move out to San Diego right around the time my lease ended. When he asked me to move out with him, it seemed like the perfect solution. And I find there's something terribly romantic about the whole thing: the two of us, plus Zues, his dog, driving an RV from Ohio to San Diego to start a new chapter of our lives, together.

So why San Diego? Why not? It's supposed to have more nice days (read: 70 degrees and sunny) than anywhere else in the country, and we're going to be less than five miles from the ocean. We should be on the beach in time to celebrate my 27th birthday, and I can't wait to see what this year has in store for me.

tc, roadtrip
