I'd been up in my room all day....ok, well all month. I hadn't really talked to anyone for about that long and I hadn't heard anyone moving around in the hallway either. Had they all left me here? Have I been all alone up here in this room while they high-tailed it out of here? I really, really hoped not, because if they were all gone, and I was up ( Read more... )

The speed with which she can talk with is frankly amazing. But, I've very little problem following her. I nod and smile as she point out different things, and actually they are all very good idea's. Now all we would need to do is find the right plants ( ... )

I smiled and continued to ramble on about this plant here and that plant there and by the time I finished, the image in my head had a flower on every square inch of the patio. I smiled, "Or do you think that a potted plant on every step would be too many flowers? It might be too many and I wouldn't want anyone to trip on them and fall, especially if it was a life or death situation and they needed and axe...or if they fell holding an axe. Although, you really shouldn't run with sharp objects, you really could put an eye out. It's...really awful."

I stopped talking and blushed because my stomach made the loudest gurgle ever. I giggled softly and put my hands over my stomach, "Either I'm hungry or there's some sort of tiny demon yelling through me and at you."

"No one really shouldn't run with sharp objects no," I agree with her. She's so enthusiastic, though I can see I might have to slower her down a bit when it comes to the actual working in the garden. We do want to be able to walk here and enjoy her work. But for now I'm just letting her ramble on, it's...cute.

Blinking at her growling stomach, I look up surprised as mine begins to growl as well. Checking my watch I notice we've been sitting here for at least two and a half hours now. Amazing how time can fly sometimes. "Well, if it's the latter then I suppose there's one answering through me," I smile at her. "Since I highly doubt that is the case, I'd say we're hungry."

I wonder if she would like to go out to grab something to eat. Though, that would probably be pushing it and make all the hard work she's done today for naught. "I could order us something to eat?"

I gave him a big smile, "Can....instead of tacos...not that I don't like tacos, because I really do. They're really really good. But, can...I mean...if it's ok...can we get...something different? Maybe...chinese food?"

I hoped he wouldn't get mad. I really shouldn't even be asking. It's not like I had the money to pay for food. He should choose and I should just...keep my mouth shut. I

Oh thank god. I was almost certain she'd want to have those taco's again. And really, nothing against American food... Alright, everything against it, but it's unhealthy to eat that many taco's.

"Of course not, Fred." Walking over to the counter I pull out several take out menu's Cordelia keeps there. "In fact you have several choices," I point at the menus. "What would you like to try? We've uhm...Chine's, Thai, Mexican and uh..." Confused I push my glasses on my nose and blink at the menu. "I've no idea what this might be."

I leaned on the counter and started reading each of the menus. They all sounded so good and a really nice change from tacos. I loved tacos and they would always be my favorite, but...too much of a good thing is...bad or something.

I tapped the Thai menu, "Does...um...well does that sound any good?" I had a description of some chicken with spices and rice and vegetables and peanuts and some other assorted things that I'd never eaten. I wanted some!

Taking the menu out of her hand, I look at it with a smile. "Thai? Certainly. Pick anything you'd like, I'm not very picky about food," I shrug at her. I don't really care much what I eat. Or most of the times even if I eat.

Putting away the other menus under the desk, I walk over to the telephone and wait for her to choose. She looks a bit lost, but I smile at her encouragingly. "Anything you want. We can even order a bit more. I'm sure the others will be hungry when they get back. They can warm it up in the oven."

I pointed to the menu, "Some of that...and um...how about some of that...?" I heard my stomach growl again and I blushed and giggled.

I looked around the office and wondered where Angel was. I hadn't seen him in a while and he hadn't come to visit me. But he was just like Wesley, always off being the hero and saving the damsels...like me.

I felt safe around Angel. He was the man...well...sort of a man...a man, but vampire, whatever he was he saved me. And having him in the same building gave me a feeling of security. Then, with a small start, I realized Wesley made me feel safe, too.

I gave him another grin as I looked at book on the desk, "Avshunktar's Book of Spells and Potions. Is that part of...of what you were working on?"

Good god, where does she put all that? Such a beautiful woman and still able to eat that much. Cordelia is probably very jealous of that. And why do I even think such things? She's a charming young woman who is still adjusting to the new world. She doesn't need me...analizing her.

Picking up the telephone I quickly order the things she has pointed out and add a few more things she might like to try. It can't hurt to broaden ones horizon. Even on the food front. "It'll be here shortly," I smile at her.

Raising an eyebrow in question at the book she points out I blush a little. "Uh...N-no, that has nothing to do with the...ah...case." Picking up the book, I give her a sheepish look. "I was just reading that for...uh...fun."

I couldn't wait to try all the food Wesley ordered. It would be nice to actually share a meal with him...talk to him. He's so smart.

I grinned at him and looked at the book again, "Can..would it be alright if I looked at it?" I knew that deep down, I couldn't go home, at least not right now, so I was here for a while. And while I was here, I wanted to make myself more useful by reading about spells and demons.

Besides, if Wesley thought it was fun reading then I was sure to like it.

Clutching the book in front of my chest I blink at her. She'd like to read this? For...why? No one is interested in any potions or spells. Except me that is. Maybe Angel. But only if it would be useful for taking out an opponent.

Smiling softly I hold out the book to her. "Of-of course you can look at it. Though, don't read anything out loud," I wink at her. "Those are actual spells and potions. I'm sure you'll handle them responsible." They're not actually dangerous. Some might create a flower or a bit of wind. Otherwise I'd never give it to her to read.

Sitting down I motion for her to put the book down as I explain a few things to her. About spells and potions, and how they are described in the book. Odd, for the first time I don't feel as if someone is humoring me by just listen to me blather on about these things.

Everything he was telling me was so interesting! I knew a little about spells and that saying them outloud was never a good thing...I knew that from personal experience and I didn't want that happening again. So, I made sure to silently read the book and listen while Wesley talked.

Maybe, if I try hard enough and learn enough, I can help Wesley with...the more mystical side of the company. I giggled when he explained one bit of archaic Latin in the book, that wasn't funny unless you knew the context, but I'd learned a little Latin and...I remembered it and so I got the joke.

I saw the surprise in his face and blushed, "I learned a little Latin...and I remember some things..." I pointed to one of the spells in the book that had the word for love in the words, "What does that one do...?"

I can't help but smile at that. Finally, someone who doesn't mind reading and research's, seems interested and knows some Latin. I wonder if I can teach her some of the other simple languages. If she likes to learn, that is.

"Oh that one. It-it's a...uh...cleaning spell. A simple one, just for cleaning a room. Getting rid of negative energy," I explain to her.

Our delivery arrives. I quickly pay the man, taking the bag with me. Thanking heaven that she didn't run up the stairs and back into her room at his arrival. I could see her struggling though. Such a brave girl. It takes a lot to conquer oneself, this much I know.

"Well, here we are," I place the bags on the counter with a smile. "Now, let's see what you like and what not." Rummaging through the bags I take out several cartons and put it on the counter. I wonder if she never ate this or is this just another thing she doesn't remember having. It's so sad. I can't imagine what that must be like.

I'd been feeling comfortable with Wesley...not at all like the scared girl from Pylea. I felt...well not normal...but less than weird around him. But when the delivery guy came in, I stared at the book in front of me, wishing that I could crawl inside.

I was going to have to get used to strangers, especially living here and the work they did...but....it was hard. I sighed and looked up at Wesley, who gave me an encouraging smile. The combination smile and good smelling food made me feel better, so I gave him an answering smile as he opened the containers.

I grabbed a pair of chopsticks and started testing the different dishes. I grinned, spiced chicken in my mouth, "This is really good." I swallowed and smiled again, "Thank you, Wesley."

We talked on and off while I sampled, a lot of everything. I kept asking him questions about spells and potions demons and their languages and he was so patient and understanding. And I wondered...,"Wesley, could...could I maybe as a favor of you..."

I find it amusing to watch her eat. She's so enthusiastic, tries out everything. She seems so happy and somewhat relaxed. And I can't help but feel comfortable around her as I explain spells and potions to her, talk about various languages.

Eating my own curry rather slowly I smile at her enthusiasm. At her hesitant question I frown and raise an eyebrow. "Of course you can, Fred. Anything you'd like." I giver her an encouraging smile again and wave a chopstick at her. "Uhm, sorry," Blushing a bit I quickly stab it back in my food.

I gave him a shy smile as I took another bite of rice and chicken. I didn't know exactly how to ask him if he would teach me....and...tutor me. I wanted to be a part of the team and the best way I knew how to do that was with my brain ( ... )
