My orchid, Charlie (yes, Charlie. It sits next to an African Violet Beauregard so I named it Charlie Orchid) has rebloomed.
This is my first orchid, so I didn't know much about them. Always thought they were really difficult to grow/tend. Anyway, after the "in the store blooms" fell off, I read a few websites that said to trim back the vertical stem, but then, fortunately, I found another that said some species of orchids will rebloom from one stem and that you shouldn't cut it back, but that it will die back naturally when it's done blooming from that stem.
About two weeks ago I noticed a very tiny pod at the end of the stem. I didn't think much about it until it got to be about the size of an uncracked walnut.
Monday I noticed it was kind of peeking open a bit. Then, yesterday, I got this:
They're cell phone pics, so they're not fabulous but, well, to be honest, I'm a horrid photographer and that's about as good as they'd look from my digital camera, too. :)
