I've wanted to be a volunter escort over the summer while I was home during summer break, however, I've been wondering about security. My mother and boyfriend in particular, have been very apprehensive about the idea of me being an escort amidst "fundamentalist psycho protesters". After watching such documentaries as "On Hostile Ground" and reading about the rise in clinic violence over the years, I can understand my mom and boyfriend's concern.
I was wondering: what are the security measures taken for clinic escorts? I know escorts have to play it safe by not verbally engaging with any of the protesters, etc. and that our primary goal is to protect and help patients into the clinic no matter what, but I was wondering if there were any other protective measures for clinic escorts?
Thanks for the info in advance.
