CPAP machines (and the people who love them)

Considered to be the “Gold Standard” in treating Sleep apnea, CPAP stands for “Continuous positive airway pressure”. It’s main function is to keep your airways open by the positive pressure that is applied to your nostrils or mouth. By keeping your airways open, your body does not “stop breathing” at any point during your sleep - a typical symptom of Sleep Apnea. A CPAP machine comes together with a mask, and tube that is connected to the machine which exerts the air pressure. For many, the use of a CPAP machine is no longer a luxury. It has become a life-saving necessity.
