IT'S OVERRRR!!! /Strongbad

So, as of today my language course is done! It's a little strange to think I've been in Germany for almost a month now. It certainly doesn't feel like it. It's that weird, in-between state of "but I just got here!" and "I feel like I've been here forever..." Tomorrow I move out of die Studentensiedlung and go back to Gundelfingen for about a week or so, before moving on to Kassel (well, around Kassel) for a week (if things go as planned) and then to Bremen.

Overall I've had a pretty good experience here. I've made lots of friends, too, and I hope to keep in touch with them while I'm at school. I'll have plenty of people to visit in Freiburg, in any case. I was a little miffed with the people who lived on my floor, because they kept moving my food on me and making me want to break out my passive-aggressive tactics, but since I don't have to live with them for a month I decided it wasn't worth it to confront them. Whatever. They can keep their dirty kitchen. I'll have my own space in Bremen in a few short weeks.

Yesterday I went to a soccer match for Freiburg-- although if I'm in Germany I suppose I should be calling it Fußball or football or something. :P We got standing-room tickets, and considering I was standing for almost three hours on concrete steps and was surrounded by masses and masses of people, I had a lot of fun. I don't like sports in the States, so that's saying something for me. The enthusiasm at the game was so contagious, I've never been anywhere like that before. When Freiburg scored a goal, the crowd went NUTS, jumping up and down and cheering and hugging and waving their hands in the air. By this point, a lot of people were too drunk and excited to remember that they had cups of beer in their hands, so the crowd was showered with beer. My hair was so sticky, but my coat took the worst of it, thankfully. My friend's coat, which was on the floor of the standing-room, basically had half a cup dumped all over the inside of it, so he had to go home reeking of beer. Freiburg didn't win, which was a shame. There's a Bremen vs. Freiburg game in a couple weeks. I think I'll watch it~

Anyhow, the rest of the day looks pretty busy. I'm going to indulge the tourist within me and take a bunch of pictures of Freiburg before I leave, because today is absolutely beautiful. Then I'm going to go to my room, pack, and go out tonight one last time with my friends. It's gonna be good. :D
