Things I found in my closet

While my internet was out, I got so bored that I started cleaning. (If you know me, you know how dire a situation this must have been, and not just because I was getting over a stomach bug at the time.) And once I got going in my closet (it's a walk-in, so you can imagine how many years of crap were piled up in there), I started compiling a list of ( Read more... )

Clearly, you need to give the MLP patch to TLE.

You must have one hell of a closet to find all that stuff PLUS all the stuff you're keeping.

Oh, it's the most wonderful thing ever, full of shelves and drawers and things (plus plastic storage drawers I bought myself). Note: for the first 14 years of my life, I did not have a closet of my own. Like, there was not even a closet in the ROOM. I consider this compensation from the universe.

Oh man, you too??? Nothing sucks more than not having a closet to shove stuff in!

Out of curiosity, did you get rid of most of these things? Or (as I am prone to do), did they go back where they were found with a "I'm sure I need this for something!"?

I just wonder how my cleaning habits compare to others', I suppose.

Most of this stuff I'm getting rid of, although I usually put it back--I find that I need at least five years to let go of something, no matter how stupid it is. So stuff I dragged out last time and kept, I'm ready to throw away now.

I do that, too. If it's only a few years old, well, MAYBE I'll want that again someday...

Yeah, but the golden rule of the universe is, that once you ACTUALLY throw that junk away, you will need it on the next day. No lie. This has happened to me before on numerous occasions.

((Though not the time we emptied out the attic at my gran's house, cos we found like bones and stuff there (my mom was a medical student). That I miraculously did not need to use again.))

Btw, thanks for this list Cleo. I'm translating this awful Shareholder's Agreement for uni, and the list seems so...homey? calming? I don't know. Anyway, it worked. :P
