Guys? I just want to make something clear: I am not advocating that you go see Twilight and talk all the way through it or shout out bits from Growing Up Cullen or generally make people who sincerely want to see the movie miserable. Save the full-on out-loud MSTing for DVD or a theater with no one else in it, okay? Don't be Those Assholes. I would ( Read more... )

why we can't have nice things, twilight, movies

Never fear. I'm protesting by not giving Summit my money at all. I'm going to watch an independent film made in/named after my home town instead.

I just wanted to say that the movie was SO BAD that it wasn't even laugh-at-able. Like, I went there fully ready to snicker at it, and it was pretty much not funny in that way at all.

Some of the actual jokes were funny, however, and, as expected, the special effects and most of the dialogue were bad enough that even the Twilight fans were laughing, but there wasn't a single part where my anti-Twilight friends and I could honestly laugh derisively and offend others there.

So no worries.

That's what I'm afraid of. I totally want to go and mock it, but I keep seeing the commercials and the clips and it just looks...bad. Not so-bad-it's-funny, just - bad.

If you go in the right mood, it's hilarious. Trust. My friends and I were shaking with silent giggles for a good portion of the film.

See, I found the movie actually so good that it wasn't even laugh-at-able... there were actual jokes, and parts where it was funny and like you said everyone in the theatre was laughing at it, and the sparkling and flying squirrel leaping was hilariously bad, but other than that... I say kudos to the directors/cast/et all. (and jsyk I'm not an obsessive Twilight fan, and I went into the movie hoping for epic lulz and was pleasantly surprised!)

Word. Let's keep the fail squarely on the shoulders of the movie/book/franchise itself.

I...um...did do that. But...it was the midnight showing, and everyone thought I was effing funny, and most people were being loud anyway. And I am pretty sure I didn't *shout* so much as I said it at normal volume to my friend sitting next to me.

But when I saw it for the second time today, I was quiet like I was supposed to be, cause the whole theater was quiet. I promise.

Midnight showings can be a totally different animal, I'll give you that. I'm just seeing people in the comments planning on how they can maximize their obnoxiousness, and I just want to make it clear that that is not something I'm encouraging or suggesting.

Ah, good. :) I feel better. I was definitely drinking my vanilla vodka and coke through the whole thing (Not playing the drinking game, though, cause that would have been deadly, frealz), and I absolutely loved it.

And imho, it was definitely worth seeing it twice. I don't know if I just have tolerance for bad movies, or what, but I didn't hate it. I will be buying and watching it in regular rotation with my other favorites. I just can't help it.

But am I the only one who some of the dazzle has worn off for due to the non-British RPattz? I was severely chagrined after two hours of hearing him sound like Hayden Christensen in Life as a House. Ugh. *goes to watch some interviews* :)

He sounded so strange. Like Rain Man on some lines.
