It has to be said

Guys? I just want to make something clear: I am not advocating that you go see Twilight and talk all the way through it or shout out bits from Growing Up Cullen or generally make people who sincerely want to see the movie miserable. Save the full-on out-loud MSTing for DVD or a theater with no one else in it, okay? Don't be Those Assholes. I would ( Read more... )

why we can't have nice things, twilight, movies

I...um...did do that. But...it was the midnight showing, and everyone thought I was effing funny, and most people were being loud anyway. And I am pretty sure I didn't *shout* so much as I said it at normal volume to my friend sitting next to me.

But when I saw it for the second time today, I was quiet like I was supposed to be, cause the whole theater was quiet. I promise.

Midnight showings can be a totally different animal, I'll give you that. I'm just seeing people in the comments planning on how they can maximize their obnoxiousness, and I just want to make it clear that that is not something I'm encouraging or suggesting.

Ah, good. :) I feel better. I was definitely drinking my vanilla vodka and coke through the whole thing (Not playing the drinking game, though, cause that would have been deadly, frealz), and I absolutely loved it.

And imho, it was definitely worth seeing it twice. I don't know if I just have tolerance for bad movies, or what, but I didn't hate it. I will be buying and watching it in regular rotation with my other favorites. I just can't help it.

But am I the only one who some of the dazzle has worn off for due to the non-British RPattz? I was severely chagrined after two hours of hearing him sound like Hayden Christensen in Life as a House. Ugh. *goes to watch some interviews* :)

He sounded so strange. Like Rain Man on some lines.

Maybe that was the "Sounding like he's from a different time" thing...but I agree. Especially his first line, when he introduces himself to Bella. I was like "uuhh....is he supposed to be retarded?"

ohmygod.

So would a lightsaber kill a twilight vampire or would it bounce off the sparkle?

Same here. I went into it with my tropical schnapps all like, "Yay, this will be fun, bring on the lulz"...And I left like, "God save my soul, I really enjoyed that. I want to go again."

Though I was not convinced by his American accent at all. Is it just me, or does his voice sound deeper with his British accent?

"Is it just me, or does his voice sound deeper with his British accent?"

I've noticed this when other British actors do American accents. Hugh Laurie, Ewan McGregor, Kevin McKidd, Jonny Lee Miller, just to name a few, all have American accents that sound slightly higher pitched than their normal accents.

I'm not sure if ladies are afflicted by this so much, though I suspect they are to some degree, though.

Also, this sort of thing happens in reverse, with Americans voices becoming deeper when they do British accents.

THANK YOU. THAT'S who his voice reminded me of! Gah, it's been driving me crazy...

(In some parts he also sounded vaguely New York-ish)

Heh, yes! I leaned over to my friend at one point (in our theatre in NYC, no less) and was like, "Wait, is he from Brooklyn now?"
