You make huge contributions! Maybe no on twitter, but you do. I wasn't going to watch it but I started reading your recaps and realized the show wasn't what I'd expect (I have no idea WHAT I expected but...) I totally started watching it because of you. AND I LOVE IT. Am now part of rabid fandom. Ooops.

Also, as a West Coaster, I appreciate that you don't livetweet it because I am forever constantly spoiled by Twitter. :D

Edited because I can words.

Heh, thanks. I probably contribute in my own way in my own corner, I guess. I also know that I have followers on Twitter from long before this show ever existed, and the hard livetweet sell is not what they're here for. That, and y'all are all over the place--I think the UK just now got the show? So I'd rather do my part to let everyone have nice things.

Speaking of the West Coast, Bryan Fuller throws in extra tweets the second livetweet around, usually extra pictures, which is nice.

I did not know this! I have to hang around on Twitter next time around. I always see the first airing and then peace out for the night after it ends (and then rewatch it on demand once or twice in combination with reading your recaps in the week following). :)

Yeah, one week during the West Coast broadcast, he posted each dog's picture and name, all six or seven of them, which was really cute. And depending on who's up at the same time, other show people may start talking with him. I just stay up anyway to get a head start on blocking out the recap, usually until 1 or 2 in the morning my time anyway, so I keep an eye on it.

"Yeah... I did say that, didn't I? MAKE IT GOOD, KNAUF."

You had me at Knauf. Ok, I'll give this show a chance.

I'm kind of wary of the pictures they've posted so far, but cinematography will probably make a big difference. I really liked Carnivale, so I want to recap the first episode regardless, to give it a shot.

I must admit, while I am deeply excited about Johnathan Rhys Meyers...if they snagged the Tudors director...couldn't they have grabbed its costuming department as well? Those Victorian clothes are TERRIBLE. I actually wasn't certain at first if it was supposed to be Victorian or not.

Oh, Carnivale. My biggest heartbreak over a cancelation ever (more than Pushing Daisies!)

Hannibal would have been worse, though. To end on a cliff hanger AND with the promise of Bowie, et al.?

Hope she doesn't remember anything, eh?

Recommending ECT?

I see what you did there, Mr. Unhelpful.

ECT really is a genuine treatment for Cotard's Syndrome, apparently. He can recommend a Dr. Bundy who can fix that right up for you.

Still convenient!

I liked that they had him learn his lesson from last time and not talk, though.

Lovely recap, as always blackcatmoebius June 2 2013, 18:15:53 UTC
On that Hannibal no-face shot... it looked at least a bit like the straightjacket-mask from SotL. Wonder how intentional that was?
(Or do they not have the rights to that image?)

I don't know about the rights, but I noticed that, yeah. The very last shot of the opening credits looks a bit like it, too.

Thing I only noticed about the fifth time through the credits: Hannibal's silhouette appears to be the only one with its eyes open.

For a moment I thought Lecter was wearing a mask to look like he had no face, but then logic said "Nah, it's the... thing. Can't see faces, so..."

Of course, now I'm wondering why she didn't attack Lecter...
