Mason started army crawling at Melisa's house last week. Call me a bit jealous. ;) But then, he did do it a bit for me this weekend at home. You just need to put the toy a bit out of reach... But he does get frustrated easily! Must run in the family...
Lila and I made new friends at church on Sunday. A single mom named Annette had her daughter McKenna there and we chatted and played together while diving into lemonaide and donuts. McKenna will be 5 on March 25th, so she's a bit older, but Lila was much more outgoing. They still ended up playing pretty well together, until the end where some tiff happened, tongues were sticking out and both girls claimed the other "hurt my feelings."
Annette was impressed that McKenna did hug Lila though (before the hurt feelings) as she's not a kid who likes someone else in her personal space. And they toppled over, Lila on bottom... but no tears. Lila can be pretty tough when she wants to be.
Lila did end up falling quite a bit while running playing. "I twisted my stupid angle!" (The "stupid" part comes from an episode of Fraggle Rock, in which a muppet falls while iceskating and twists her "stupid ankle.")
Mason thought they were great when they took off running. Laughing and laughing, he wanted down to try to run after them. Yes, he still has to hold my hands, but he really took off trying to catch them!
This morning, he tried being even a little braver than normal and stood without holding on to any furniture. Little Man's so tall the tips of his fingers could just barely reach the top of the bathroom sink! Standing solo didn't work so well though once Mommy took a step back and boom! At least he landed on his bottom this time.
