Random thoughts:

1. I hate digital TV. The way it gets all pixilated and the sound goes out. Sit in the wrong place, move your arm in the wrong area, and out it goes.

2. And if where I sit or move affects the signal, is that a bad thing for our health? That all these signals for digital TV and cell phones, etc, surround us every moment of our lives?

3. Why do I put anything on or in my body that is labeled “keep out of reach of children”? Like my lotion this morning. If it has so many chemicals that it’s unsafe to accidentally ingest (assuming that’s what a little kid may do), why is it safe to absorb into my skin?

4. I have to admit to Charlie soon that we need a new TV and VCR for the bedroom. I can’t stand that squealing noise it makes.

5. I love the way Lila, and all kids her age I guess, take things so literally. “Her nose stuck in a book” really means a nose stuck in a book to her. Cracks her up every time. Or I’ll read, “Her eyes lit up” and she’ll laugh and say “Her eyes lit down!” Right now, she keeps saying “It isn’t fair”, but can’t explain to me what isn’t fair or what that means. When I tell her she’s not making sense, she’ll use the word “sense” in another sentence that really doesn’t make any sense. Like she’s trying to use the big words Mommy uses, but just doesn’t know what they mean yet.

6. I wonder if what we like as little babies and kids factors into what we become when we grow up. Mason loves to be held up in the air. It’s how I get him to smile, even when he’s grumpy. So is he a future pilot? Lila loves to pick up animals, no fear. So is she a future vet? A future farmer or shepherd? Of course, she also loves to argue. Maybe a future attorney? Oh dear. She’s also very concerned with how people feel, so maybe she’ll argue on behalf of people’s rights. Maybe she’ll be a patient’s rights advocate. Of course, she also still loves to be in the air. Maybe I’ll have two pilots. She does love to sing, but not in front of strangers, so I think performer is out. Her Dada will be happy to read that.

7. Am I too easily poked, prodded, offended?
