Yunho promised Moonbin that he will be there before the program will start but he clearly failed the boy. An emergency made him come to the hospital and Dr. Kang apologized to him but he made sure that Yunho will be out at 2 pm, no matter what he’ll still be late because the program will start at 1 in the afternoon. He was frustrated. He did not want to disappoint his little boy but as a doctor, his priority was to save life and this time, he was there because of Jungshin. The boy’s body was giving up but it was clear that Jungshin was fighting for his life.

He checked his watch. It was 1:30. Jungshin saw Yunho so he asked using his weak voice.

“You… can go now super Yunho…” Jungshin muttered with a smile. His eyes were closing, the boy needed to sleep.

“Nah, buddy. I have to watch for you until your umma arrives.” But Jungshin shook his head just then the door opened and Jungshin’s mom arrived, crying.

“Umma… here… byebye super Yun…” He weakly mumbled. The boy’s mom nodded then thank him.

“I’ll see you on Monday Jungshin. Be a good boy, okay?” the boy nodded before he finally closed his eyes and fell asleep. He was in so much pain when Yunho saw this morning. At first, Yunho thought that Jungshin wasn’t going to make it but the boy was strong. He has a great will for his mother.

Now, he has to go and drive towards his son’s school. With his driving skills, it’ll only take 10 minutes. He just hoped that he will be able to arrive in time for his son’s performance.

Yunho parked his car near the gates then ran his way to the Einsten section. He forgot to remove his white over coat as well as the stethoscope that was in a U around his neck. His mind was on his son who might get mad at him for not being able to watch. As soon as he saw the door, he opened it without care which caused a slight noise enough to distract the people who were inside. He met eyes staring at him then felt his baby’s arms wrapping around his thigh.

“I’m sorry.” He bowed and apologized for causing a scene. He was embarrassed but he couldn’t let it show. Moonbin led him to Jaejoong who was with his grandmother. He was holding a tie and the man was avoiding eye contact. He caught him blushing but he wouldn’t tell him that nor tease him.

“It’s alright Mr. Jung. The program is just about to start. Things got delayed so we let the kids eat lunch with their parents first.” Ms. Hana explained.

“Ah. Thank you.” Yunho noticed a few parents that he met in the hospital. He smiled at them as he got acknowledged. Even a few kids ran and gave him a hug. He caught a glimpse of his son who has a pout on his lips. Jaejoong was dressing him but it wasn’t what Jaejoong was doing that got the boy irritated. The boy was sneaking glances at him so maybe, his baby was annoyed at him?

“Excuse Uncle Yunho for a moment, okay?” The children pouted too but they still got back to their parents. Just then he noticed that he was still wearing his white over-coat and the steth over his neck. He removed the steth and put it inside the coat’s pocket.

“Binnie…” He squatted so he could be leveled with his son who was now refusing to talk to him. “Appa is sorry that appa’s late and appa’s attention gets caught by somebody else but now appa is Binnie’s only. Appa will let Binnie punish appa.” Yunho waited for his son to reply, not noticing that he was close in proximity at Jaejoong too.

“Binnie… talk to your appa. He’s here now. Aren’t you looking for him awhile ago?” Jaejoong said as he gently tapped his baby.

“Sorry…” was all the boy could say as he jumped on his appa who luckily did not fell down… thanks to Jaejoong who managed to grab Yunho just before he lost balance.

“It’s appa’s fault baby…” just then Moonbin giggled. Yunho turned his head away while Mrs. Kim chuckled at Yunho. Well, they found his stomach’s grumbling funny. That was embarrassing yet at least, it took away his baby’s attention.

“Haven’t you eaten?” Jaejoong asked as he brought out the extra food his baby asked him to cook.

“Nah. It’s crazy in the hospital. I did not have time to eat.” He told Jaejoong.

Yunho hoisted Moonbin off the floor then he sat at the chair beside Jaejoong.

“Here. Finish this off. Moonbin asked me to cook this.”

“Thank you.”

“And I really think that you should remove your coat. Aren’t you uncomfortable?” Mrs. Kim butted in as she handed Yunho a pair of chopstick.

The program started while Yunho was eating. He stopped to clap once in a while thus it took him time before he even finished his meal. Praise to Jaejoong’s cooking, the food was really delicious. He quite missed the foods his best friend made for him and now, he was so sure he’ll go crazy craving for the younger one’s home cook meals. Maybe, if he asked nicely, Jaejoong could spare time and cook food for him? Nah, he doubted that. Jaejoong was only acting nice because there were other parents around.

“Next to perform is Jung Moonbin.” the teacher called as the parents clapped in applause.

Moonbin has pulled his appa and umma with him. Mrs. Kim was busy taking a video of them. His parents seated at the front and cheered for their little baby boy. Binnie became nervous as he took in all the attention. He sighed and fisted his hands on his hand. Yunho became aware of his son’s discomfort so without thinking twice, he stood and stayed beside his baby. The other kids cheered. Well, Yunho was being famous among them.

“Come on Binnie. I saw half of your performance so I guess I could dance with you.” Yunho whispered at his sound. The music began and amazingly, Yunho had dance in sync with Moonbin. Jaejoong clapped his hands, proud of his baby who dances really well despite of his young age. Ah, the talent… he got it from his appa. Jaejoong thought with his lower lip jutted forward.

As the music ended, Yunho and Moonbin posed cooly earning a loud clap among the other children and parents. It was good that Yunho was a dancer before. It helped him a lot to help his baby today and of course, he hoped that Moonbin could really forgive him for being late.

“Thank you for a wonderful performance Mr. Jung and Moonbin.” Ms. Hana cheered then she welcomed the next performer.

Jaejoong enveloped Binnie in a hug as the boy pounced on him. He showered the boy with kisses despite the sweat. Mrs. Jung hasn’t stop taking a video. She was too proud of their little baby boy and now, the father. It was a plus point to Yunho because he did undeniably well today.

“Do you have spare shirts Yunho?” Mrs. Kim asked as she saw the pooled sweat at the man’s back. Jaejoong also looked but he did not say anything. He made himself busy by changing Moonbin’s clothes.

“I have one in the car aunty. I’ll just go and get it.” Moonbin managed to grasp his appa’s hand to stop the man.

“Appa… Binnie will go with you.” The boy said. Yunho lifted him up and have the boy secured its arms around his neck.

As they left the room, they were greeted by other sets of parents from the day care’s further sections like Newton and Edison. He bowed to them, some he knew as parents of Dr. Kang’s patients. Yunho brought down his son as he open the door to his car. As he rummaged through his bag, he heard a few gossipers talking about seeing Jaejoong with another man, the two of them cheating on each other, not loving Moonbin up to the extent that they live separately and the likes. Moonbin must have heard it too and understood it because the boy got upset, he could feel and see it despite how Moonbin show he did not care.

“Binnie?” He crouched in front of his son. “Don’t listen to them… Umma and Appa love you. It’s just that umma and appa can’t live together.” He tried to explain but his son just stared at him with tears pooling at the side of his eyes.

“Why… why appa not with Binnie and umma?” He asked as the tears marked his face. He sniffed repeatedly to stop himself but it was of no use.

“I’m sorry Binnie. Appa can’t tell you right now… but we love you, okay?” the boy nodded.

“Come on. Appa will get change here. Binnie should guard appa.” Yunho said as the boy nodded again and hold unto the door of the car.

“Appa done?” Binnie asked. He was kicking the stone that his little foot could reach. He was still thinking of the reason why his appa and umma was not leaving together. It was making his head hurt and his heart most of all.

“Appa’s done Binnie. Come, let’s go back.” Moonbin raised his arms for his appa to take.

The boy has been quiet all the way inside the building as well as inside the room as he let him sit on the chair. Jaejoong noticed it but did not ask. He cornered Yunho at the back. With one look, Yunho knew what the younger man was going to ask.

“He just heard something. It made him upset. I tried to talk to him but he kept on thinking, I guess.” Yunho said.

“What did he heard?”

“Something about us not living together, not loving him enough to the point that we cheat on each other?” He said as if it did not matter.

“And you say it as if all of this does not matter?” Jaejoong restrained himself for shouting. Causing a scene wasn’t good especially for their son.

“Of course it matters Jae. Do you think I will let my son get hurt? And I am not in a relationship. Why would I even cheat?”

Jaejoong had shut his mouth. He wouldn’t admit that Yunho has a point. He was indeed in a relationship and Yunho knew for sure.

“I’ll try to talk to Binnie just stay out of it.” Jaejoong said.

“Moonbin is my son too. You can’t stop me.”

“Stop it, okay? Why do you always argue with me?” Jaejoong jabbed his finger at Yunho as his patience was running thin and Yunho was making it harder when it was him who supposed to make Yunho suffer.

Yunho grabbed Jaejoong’s hand before the other could prod its finger at him again. The two knew they were making a scene but they were both pissed with each other that embarrassment was no longer a thing. Yunho pulled Jaejoong out of the room, leaving Binnie with his grandmother. Some parents saw them but they did not say a thing. Jaejoong was dragged until out of earshot. They ended up in the playground where neither of them saying a word.

“Now what?” Jaejoong half shout, obviously irritated at Yunho.

“Jae can you stop being childish?”

“I am not being childish. Why can’t you just leave? We are better off without you. You’re just messing with my life again and you’re making it hard for us! Can’t you see? Binnie doesn’t need you. He already has Doojoon. Everything is perfect then you came and ruin our perfect family! I hate you!” Out of anger, Jaejoong pounded his hands on Yunho’s chest and blabber words that could hurt the man but Yunho tried not to get affected.

“You hid him to me.” Yunho spoke. “You plan on making a family… a fake one for Moonbin. You do know that sooner or later I will come back. You can’t take my son away for a long time Jaejoong. He needs me. He needs a real father, a real family and you… you are being selfish. You only think about your happiness not Moonbin’s. If there’s a better parent between the two of us then it’s me. If you continue being like this, I will take him away from you!” Jaejoong got stunned. His eyes were wide in fear as he took in what the older man had said.

No! He shouted in his mind. Yunho can’t possibly take his son away.

“I hate you! Binnie is my son. He’s mine!” then Jaejoong slapped Yunho that’s when the other man saw Moonbin with Mrs. Kim. His eyes widened too. Yunho saw his son crying. “Even if Moonbin beg, I wouldn’t come back to you. I will not give him to you.”

“Stop it.” Yunho warned. He wanted to run to his son but Jaejoong has a deathly grip on his arm.

“I hate you.”

“I said stop it!” Yunho forcefully remove his arms from Jaejoong hands then pushed aside the man as he ran to his son who already left with its grandmother. Jaejoong was left crying in the playground. He sat at the swing then covered his face with his hands as he cry out. He couldn’t come back inside with his state, he would just mess things up.

As for Yunho, he was able to reach his son but the boy was refusing to look at him. He unclenched the boy’s hand because he could see how the child was beginning to hurt himself. He looked up and met Yoona’s eyes. It was sad and worried. She shook her head and leveled her height with the little boy.

“Binnie… your appa wants to talk to you. Grandma will just get your things inside okay? I bet you’re tired. We’ll just go home.” She stood and left without waiting for Moonbin to answer. Yunho grabbed his son’s hand then gently led him to the bench near the back door. From there, Yunho could see Jaejoong but he chose not to mind him. Moonbin was more important. It angered him how selfish Jaejoong has become… all because of him.

“Moonbin.” Yunho cooed but the boy was rejecting him. The boy was struggling with his hold and it pained him. “I’m sorry baby. Umma was upset at me. We didn’t mean to do that.” He tried to explain but he was answered with tears flowing from the boys eyes… again. The boy’s shoulder was shaking, showing how he was trying to hold back his sobs.

Yunho lifted the boy off the ground and settled Moonbin on his lap. His hand was running circles on the boy’s back then he rested Binnie’s head over his chest where the boy could hear his heartbeat.

“Will you still want to have a sleepover at appa’s house?” the boy nodded without hesitation.

“Thank you Binnie.”

“But… umma will get angry again and shout at appa… and I don’t want fighting… I-I just want family like Inhwan… Hwannie has many stories about his appa and umma and their vacations… I wish I can tell him stories too… but… but umma will be sad… Binnie doesn’t want umma sad… and appa too but why appa? Why umma said… why he hates you?” Moonbin asked. His hands were grasping Yunho’s shirt tightly. His tears had finally stopped, waiting for his appa’s reply but what could Yunho do? How will he be able to explain to his son in a way that the boy would understood him if… if he did not know how to begin with.

Moonbin was taken off of him carelessly by Jaejoong who was sending him daggers with the way the latter was looking at him. Their son felt shocked and scared that he began shaking again as he stopped himself from crying but failed.

“Hush now Binnie… umma will take you home…” Jaejoong said.

“But… but Binnie is going to sleep at appa.” Moonbin reminded him.

“No. You are going home with me. Do you understand? No more appa.” He replied sternly making Moonbin confused and hurt that he began trashing within his mom’s hold which in turn made Jaejoong got upset that he hit the boy on the leg.

“Jaejoong!” Yoona and Yunho called in shock at the same time.

Moonbin cries were now garnering attention from the parent’s who were outside at the moment. The place became so quiet until little Moonbin shrieked.

“I want appa! Appa! Appa! I hate you umma!” Moonbin pounded his little fist on Jaejoong whose hands were beginning to slip from its hold.

Ms. Hana was trying to make the parents go back inside as they heard the commotion outside. Yoona was bowing in apology as she helped the teacher with the parents. Yunho finally, had taken Moonbin from Jaejoong and as soon as he had the boy, Moonbin buried its head on his chest. Jaejoong, on the other hand was trying to coo his son but because of fright, Moonbin became stubborn that he avoided his mother’s hand by swatting it away from him without even looking.

“Stop it Jae. Stop it. Let him calm down.” Yunho said but Jaejoong just wouldn’t stay still. “Jae please!”

“It’s your fault… is this what you are planning? Then you won… give him back to me…” Jaejoong cried as he slumped onto the cold floor with his hands back to covering his face. He was ashamed not because of the people seeing them but because he just hurt his son for the first time… in front of Yunho and losing his baby because of his harsh way of dealing with the boy’s father.

“Binnie… umma doesn’t mean it… your umma is sorry.” Yunho murmured as he placed kisses on the child’s head while gently running his hand on Moonbin’s back.

“I want home… let’s go home appa… home home home…” Moonbin’s voice was muffled as he struggled on burying his head deeper for comfort.

“Bring him home Yunho… His things are inside the car just get it. The driver is there. I’ll bring Jaejoong home.” Mrs. Yoona said. She was also seated on the floor, trying to calm his son.

“Binnie…” Yunho tried again.  He was crouching in front of Jaejoong so the younger man would be able to reach his son. “Even if you are upset… you should say bye bye to umma… he’ll miss you on the weekend too… and grandma also… come on baby… umma is already sorry… he was just upset at me, okay? It’s appa’s fault.”

Moonbin slowly lifted his head off of Yunho and turned his head sideways, his trunk following so he could see his umma. He felt even sadder seeing his umma’s shoulder shake just like his. “Umma Binnie’s leaving… Binnie will miss umma too.” He softly muttered as he reached his hand and patted his umma on the head.

“Stop crying umma… Binnie loves you…” just then Jaejoong stood and hugged his son who was still within Yunho’s hold thus for Moonbin not to fall, Yunho has too take Jaejoong in the arms and squeeze their son for safety in the middle. Jaejoong cried for a few minutes while Moonbin was trying to calm his umma while continuing patting his umma on the head. Yunho was also helping by drawing circles on the man’s back. Jaejoong’s head was in comfort over Yunho’s broad chest. His cheek was in contact with his son’s shoulder.

“I love Binnie too…” Jaejoong choked with his words as the emotion came rushing back. “I’m sorry baby… I’m sorry for hitting you… I will never ever do that again… never ever…” He rubbed the spot that he hit and he felt so awful seeing faint red marks on his son’s leg. When he looked up, Yunho has a reddish mark on his cheek too. Jaejoong felt bad for it and he wanted to say sorry but his pride got the better of him… he couldn’t even say I’m sorry. Yunho caught the man’s gaze and eyed him with understanding. The anger awhile ago just vanished as he stared at his best friend. He had made Jaejoong like this. He never raised his hand when his angry but just now, he had hurt their son.

“I’ll bring him back to your home on Sunday.” Yunho just said. He was still upset about Jaejoong but he wouldn’t taunt the younger man. He could still feel Jaejoong’s head over his chest and the scent he missed, he once again smelled. Jaejoong pulled away and release his hug from his son but he cannot move because of Yunho’s hand on him. Yunho shifted his son’s weight on his other arm then let Jaejoong out of their close proximity. Moonbin’s head was back into its hiding place. He might have said I love you however he was still surprised and frightened with the way his mom acted to him.

“I’ll see you Binnie… byebye baby.” Jaejoong said as he placed one last kiss on top of his son’s head.

“Byebye umma…”

Yunho headed towards Jaejoong’s car where he took every belongings of Moonbin inside. Then he opened the passenger door of his car and tucked Moonbin safely on the sit. He checked Jaejoong first who was observing them. He smiled at the man and got a faint smile too. He hoped that this will be a lesson to the two of them thay yes, their child should comes first. He will raise the topic of marriage soon. Jaejoong will surely make a big fuss but he have to handle it well or they ended up broken and their child will be in the middle, trying to fix things that were no longer mendable.

Yunho was cornered by Jaejoong when he brought the child back to its mother but the younger man has been silent the whole time. His patience was beginning to thin. He was thinking why Jaejoong was holding him back and why the man was nervous. Jaejoong has been fidgeting from his seat since Moonbin arrived home. Yunho waited. He coughed for a few times to get Jae’s attention but it wasn’t working. He checked his watch to give Jaejoong a hint. Jaejoong must have understood what Yunho was doing because he leaned closer on the table but still hasn’t said anything.

“Jaejoong, what’s wrong?” Yunho asked with one eyebrow raised as he did not bother to hide his annoyance. He let Jaejoong took a deep breath. He began tapping his foot on the floor but he had enough. He rose from his seat and was about to leave however Jaejoong got a hold of his sleeve and pushed him back to his sit.

Yunho opened his mouth to say something but what happened next happened like a blur.

“Let’s get married and get it over it fast.” Jaejoong said, as simply as that. Now, Yunho should be happy right? Because he wanted to marry Jae all along. He wanted a complete family for his son. He wanted his son to grow in a wonderful environment where his parents were there supporting him. The way Jaejoong said it, he must have thought about it the whole weekend. He could see Jaejoong was troubled and was holding back himself.

“Yunho have you heard me?” The said man kept staring. Yunho wasn’t in any way happy nor moved by what Jaejoong did because he knew that something was up. It wouldn’t be that easy for Jaejoong and even for him.

“Have you broken up with Doojoon?” He asked. With Jaejoong guilty silence, he received the answer. Jaejoong was avoiding his eyes. He was hiding something. It was either Doojoon and Jae were over or Doojoon had let Jaejoong get married to him and they remained lovers. The latter was a big blow to Yunho. He wouldn’t let that. He still has his pride and a son to be protected. He wouldn’t let Jaejoong get away with this.

“Then no Jaejoong. Do you think Moonbin would be happy if he found out about you cheating on his appa? This is stupid Jaejoong. Do you resent me that much that you have to ask me that and continue being with someone? I cannot let you degrade yourself and mine. If you wanted a marriage, then we’ll get married but it will only happen in the right way. Either you left Doojoon or we both continue being a painful memory to our son. I swear Jaejoong, I will do everything for my son.” Yunho stood from where he was sitting. His eyes were boring hole on Jaejoong. He was too upset to even watch his mouth. He made Jaejoong like this. It was his entire fault but Jaejoong was a strong man, he shouldn’t have let the past control him. Seeing this, Yunho thought of all the things that he should mend.

There were a lot to begin with.

He shouldn’t have left.

Jaejoong had stayed in the dining area even after Yunho was finally gone. He has been crying since the man left because of his emotions. He has his phone on his hand but he couldn’t call Doojoon… not until he settled his mind. He wished he was good with these things but whatever he chose, it should center his son. As the day passed, he was losing his baby and he won’t let that happen.

It was either him or Moonbin. He loved his son more than anything… more than his life.

With a look of determination, Jaejoong dialed Doojoon’s number and waited for the man to respond. On the fifth ring, Doojoon answered the phone with much enthusiasm but everything changed when Jaejoong spoke.

“Let’s talk Joon.” Jae could hear Doojoon sighing deeply. The once playful voice of his boyfriend was now changed into total seriousness.

“Okay… where?”

“Home…”

“Alright. Give me 20 minutes. Bye.” Doojoon hanged up without hearing anymore of Jaejoong.

Doojoon sat on his bed with his phone clutched within his hand.

It was time like those in the video games… it was a Time’s up.

Doojoon smiled bitterly. He shook his head then he began crying. He threw his phone forward out of frustration. He was also in fault. He won’t deny that especially if Yunho was the one who asked him. He knew something and he hasn’t told it to Jaejoong.

Love made him do things courageously but most of the times, it screamed stupidity. He was too stupid from falling in love with Jaejoong from day one until today. He became a fool because even now, Jaejoong did not really love him like how the man loved Yunho. He guessed why Jae had called him. His lover was breaking up with him. He did anticipate it but not at this extent… not in this way.

Why so sudden? No. He wouldn’t give up.

Doojoon took his coat that was hanging from the stand then picked up his car keys. He speeded his way towards the Kim’s house and when he arrived, only Jaejoong was at home. With a calm voice, Jaejoong had told him that he asked his umma to bring Moonbin outside because he can no longer upset the little boy. He was ushered until at the living room where Jaejoong kept his mouth shut and Doojoon, like Yunho, was waiting for him to speak.

“Jae.” “Joon.” Both called at the same time. Jaejoong looked away and was avoiding his lover until he felt the man’s arms wrapped around him then be broke down… crying.

“Ssshhh… everything will be okay Jae… just trust me on this.” Doojoon decided and he was determined of not letting go of Jaejoong even if it caused his friendship with Yunho. Besides, that friendship was already betrayed by him for years.

“I have to do this Joon… I can’t stand seeing my son like this… I want him happy. I will do the right thing for him… and now Joon… I’m really sorry. Let’s break up.” With his body enclosed and his voice muffled, Doojoon held him as if he hasn’t heard anything. He comforted the man just like what he did before.

Not like this. He kept repeating on his mind.

“I will marry you Jae and have a happy family with Binnie… we’ll be happy I promise… I will protect the two of you. I will try and talk to Yunho… just trust me on this baby… I don’t want to let you go. I can’t Jae.” He may sound pathetic but he won’t care. He could do many things for Jaejoong just like how the man will do everything for Moonbin.

“You don’t understand Joon. I want a happy Moonbin. I want my son genuinely happy. Not forced… not trying to hold back. Moonbin is so important to me. Binnie’s my life Joon. When I gave birth to him, I am really happy. He’s my strength. He kept me sane. When I hurt him, I felt my world crumble. I cannot stand seeing my baby hurt because of me or because of anyone. Please… please Joon… let me go. I’m really sorry… I cannot fight for you like how you’re fighting for me.”

Jaejoong heard the bell rang and he knew it was his mom and his little bunny. He wiped away the tears on his face and did the same to Doojoon. He rose from the couch and Doojoon did the same.

“Jae I love you… please… trust me on this… please” Doojoon begged but Jaejoong was already pushing him away.

“Umma!” He heard the voice of his son and the quick foot steps, telling him that his baby was running.

“Appa Joon!” Binnie was rushing to his appa Joon that he did not even notice the tension inside the room. Jaejoong took Moonbin back from Doojoon and asked the man to leave with his eyes but his now ex-lover was refusing to go.

“Binnie ah… go back to grandma. I’ll just escort Joon to the door okay? Kiss umma.” Moonbin pecked his umma on the lips before he ran back to his grandmother who detoured in the kitchen.

“Joon please. Don’t make it hard for me. We can’t be together. That’ll hurt Binnie too. Please? If you really love me, you have to let me go.” Doojoon kept his hold on Jaejoong’s but the latter kept on pushing him away.

“Jae if you do this, you’re gonna hurt yourself more.”

“It’s over Doojoon and please… never come back.” Jaejoong closed the door of the house and turned his back on it. He wanted to open it and get back to Doojoon but he chose not to. He ran upstairs, into his room then he locked the door. His back slid against it as he broke down crying.

What I wrote here is my very own opinion. this is how i view things and this is how i would probably deal with problems the same as the Jaejoong character here was facing.

I hope that you'll understand it and of course, the grammar sucks... I hope you don't mind those that much. I did my best but I know that I cannot please everyone.

Thank you so much ^___^

PS: I hate breaking up Jaejoong and Doojoon but I have to.
