“What’s wrong Yunho?”

It has been two days since the incident at the Kim’s household.

Yunho was quietly staring outside from the window. He was close to counting the droplets of the rain but he shook his head for its impossibility just like how Jaejoong was to him.

He sighed hard to release every tension but it wasn’t helping him at all. He missed his son. He missed him so much but for sure Jaejoong would not give into him. Jaejoong showed him clearly how much he loves Doojoon and it hurt him seeing them intimate.

“Nothing umma. I just miss Binnie.”

“Well. Yoona called. She said that tomorrow, they will bring Moonbin here because no one will be able to take care of him since Jaejoong refused to entrust the child with a nanny. Jaejoong was hesitant at first but he does not have a choice. He can’t afford not to attend his class. You are free tomorrow, right? You might as well grab this chance and bond with your son.”

Yunho did not give any response but his mother saw the smile decorating his son’s face. His residency will begin next week and he planned to ask Jaejoong to have Moonbin by his side for the rest of the week. It’ll be a big issue but he has his fingers crossed that Jaejoong wouldn’t argue with him that much.

The next day came as if yesterday did not happen. Jaejoong wasn’t able to accompany his son because the child woke up late. But Yunho knew very well that Jaejoong did not want to see him even accidentally.

Yunho greeted Mrs. Kim and led the excited child inside. Despite traveling for hours, the child was still energetic and was truly excited spending time with his now Appa Yun. It became a shock when after that drama a few days ago, Moonbin barged inside his umma’s room and tugged on the man’s shirt. He asked about his Yunho appa and Jaejoong has no other choice but to explain his side to Moonbin. The child, in all his innocence might seem to understand but he was still young and there were a lot of things that were left unexplained.

“How are you Moonbin?” Yunho asked as he guided the child towards his lap. An elephant plushie was occupying his short limbs. Yunho tried to take the elephant but Moonbin whined and frown at him.

“Mine. Fanny mine.” He pouted and turned his head away from Yunho.

“Appa’s sorry binnie. Appa just wanted to hug his baby.”

“Okay but… appa should not take Fanny away from me becaue Fanny will be sad.” Yunho smiled widely at his cute son. He couldn’t help showering the child with kisses making Moonbin laugh.

Jaejoong was upset that Moonbin had easily accepted his real father but he couldn’t take it out to his son. He has been deprived of a real family for a long year already. Although Moonbin was still looking for Doojoon, his umma wouldn’t let him. Mrs. Kim thought that if Moonbin kept seeing Doojoon then it will take a long time before Moonbin recognize Yunho as his appa.

Why did they favor Yunho more than Doojoon? Hasn’t the man prove he was more than worthy? The thought was making Jaejoong angry that he wanted to slap Yunho and hurt him then made him feel that it would take a thousand years before he would be able to accept him again.

For those two days, Jaejoong constantly contact Doojoon. He called and nagged the man until Doojoon gave up and brought Jaejoong into the tightest hug as if they haven’t seen each other for a long time. Jaejoong poured his heart out as his fist pounded on his lover’s chest. It was for betraying him, he kept muttering but the truth was it because of how Doojoon just let him go as if the man did not really love him.

Doojoon kept whispering how much he loved Jaejoong. They kissed and they took each other deeper into their arms. They were curled into the couch as they talk about their relationship.

“I should have fought for you Jae but I was a coward. I’m sorry for hurting you but now I won’t let you go.” Doojoon kissed Jaejoong’s already swollen lips but the latter just wouldn’t care.

“Don’t ever leave me Joon. I can’t take it.” Once again, they engaged into a fierce kiss and savor each other’s sweetness. For Doojoon, Jaejoong was addicting and it took so much of his willpower to stop everything before it step onto the next level.

Yunho lied down on his bed just beside his busy little boy. Moonbin was so into coloring that he forgot that his appa was with him and he was at the Jung’s house. The boy was just excited because of his appa’s gifts for him. There were lots of coloring and painting materials since he heard from Mrs. Kim that Moonbin loved arts.

Everything was doing well aside from one time where Moonbin asked Yunho if he could call his Appa Joon on the phone. Yunho debated with himself but one look from his son, he knew he was defeated.

Moonbin and Doojoon talked for a short time but seeing his son, he believed that it was already enough. His son still looked up to Doojoon and there was no way he could stop him from doing so. For as long as Binnie was happy then he will be too besides Doojoon had taken care of his son from the past years. He was grateful for it.

“How was it Binnie?”

“I miss appa Joon and appa said to be a good boy.”

Yunho patted his son’s head and pecked the boy’s forehead.

Yunho’s thought were in a whirwind as he watched his son. Jaejoong suddenly became the center of his mind. He wondered what the man was doing right now. He heard from Yoochun that the two haven’t broken up and it made him totally jealous but right now, he would let them. He smiled sadly but his son with him was good enough besides he will have Jaejoong soon… no matter what.

“Binnie ah… do you want to go for a swim?” He asked randomly. The child’s eye instantly connected with his. He could see the curiousity and it made him curious too.

“Don’t you know how to swim Binnie?” Well, Doojoon was a swimmer and Jaejoong was afraid of it.

“No appa… umma wouldn’t let me and Binnie’s still young.”

“Do you want me to teach you? I’m sure you’d be great.” Yunho brought his son’s face in between his hands and pecked the child’s nose.

“Okay! Okay!” Moonbin bounced on the bed happily, spilling the contents of some of the paint on the blanket.

“I-I’m sorry appa. Binnie’s sorry.” His tears were pooling on the side of his eyes. Yunho only smiled at him and told him it was alright.

Yunho then prepared extra clothes for his son as well as for him. They ordered take out for their lunch and snacks along the way. Yunho bought everything needed for his child’s safety while swimming at the place. There were few people around despite it being Saturday but it was better for his son. The less people the better or so he thought.

The two were lurking around, looking for the right spot for them. Yunho chose to stay a few meters away from the pool just so as they play, Yunho can still watch out for their belongings.

Moonbin was scared of the waters at first but with Yunho’s constant assurance, the little boy gave in but still clutching unto his appa for his dear life. The boy was afraid of the water but Yunho was determined in teaching the boy how to swim.

“Appa! Appa!” Moonbin shrieked when Yunho tried to loosen his son’s hold. They earn quite a few curious stares from the other swimmer but Yunho just shrugged it off with a smile.

“Binnie ah… you won’t get hurt here. The water doesn’t even reach your shoulder besides appa is here baby. Appa won’t let you get hurt. Do you trust appa?” when the boy nodded, Yunho slowly let go of his son. The scene was admired by a few bystanders who Yunho did not notice because his full attention was at his son.

Moonbin began paddling his feet. It was quite messy but was good for a young boy like Moonbin. They’ve been in the water for an hour when Moonbin was finally able to propel himself without Yunho’s help. Yunho was so proud of his son who was able to learn quickly. Even the lifeguard who was just watching them since half an hour ago clapped his hands to congratulate the little boy. Though it was a short distance (a really short one), Yunho was still happy.

“Your son is really great.”

“He is. Binnie ah, say thank you to ahjussi.”

“T-thank you ahjussi.” Moonbin who was naturally shy, hid behind his appa when he noticed those other people who was watching him. It was natural to be an eye catcher especially for Yunho, add to that was his cute little Moonbin. Due to his tall height, the water only reached below his knee. He wanted to bring Moonbin to the adult and now was the best time. As long as Moonbin was calm then everything would be alright.

“Binnie ah…” He leveled his height with Moonbin. “… appa will bring you to the other pool. Just hold unto appa, okay?”

Yunho carried Moonbin on his arms and carefully gathered their things before he walk off towards the adult pool. He secured the strap of Moonbin’s life vest then pecked his son on the forehead before bringing the boy again up to his arms.  He stayed close to the stairs so that Moonbin can still play without getting scared.

It was after hours when Yunho let Moonbin play on the kiddie pool with a playground on it. He kept watch as he packed a few things they had brought with them. There were a few kids too so Yunho was sure that his son was enjoying the time.

Moonbin saw his appa staring at him so the little boy waved at the tall man who kept on guard watching him. His appa waved back and he smiled. As a little boy, he felt proud hearing the praises from the other kids. To his eyes, his Yunho appa looked like a prince and the man was really great… maybe even greater than his appa Joon but he would not say that out loud.

He pouted when he heard a few of the moms in the pool talking about how handsome his appa was. If his appa Yunho was really his appa then his umma will get sad and possibly jealous. Not being able to take anymore of the gossips from the grown ups, he slid at the plastic slide for the last time then ran off to where his appa was watching him and practically jumped t the man’s awaiting arms.

“Have you had fun Binnie?” Yunho took his time drying his son just so the boy wouldn’t catch a cold.

“Yes appa! Bring Binnie again to swim please! Please! Please!”

“Of course Binnie. I would if that’s what my baby wants.”

Yunho carried Moonbin into his arms as they walked towards the shower room. There weren’t a lot of people there so he was sure that his son wouldn’t get shy. He help his son bathe as he too, clean himself and when they were done, the stopped by to a restaurant and ate early dinner there but not after calling home.

When they arrived home, Mrs. Kim was already waiting for them and surprisingly with Jaejoong whose real smile faded as soon as the man saw him.

“Umma!” Moonbin ran excitedly to his mother who was already half kneeling on the floor to level his height with their son.

The thought of Moonbin being theirs made him smile too but Yunho did not want to tick Jaejoong off.

“So how’s my little bunny’s day?” Jaejoong cupped his son’s face and pecked the child’s lips.

“Appa! Appa and Binnie swim in a big tub and appa taught Binnie how to swim. Everyone said that Binnie is great.” The child rambled proudly but seeing Jaejoong’s reaction, he was thorn into being proud, worried and upset.

“Go to grandma Binnie. Umma will just talk to your… well appa, okay?” the child nodded and followed his grandmother.

“You!” Jaejoong half yelled, “What if something happened to my son? Your sorry won’t be even be enough! How can you bring him somewhere dangerous and without my consent! I’m his mother!”

“I’m his father.” Yunho replied calmly. “and Jaejoong do you think I will let my son get hurt? I am well capable of taking care of him and you know that. I wanted to bond with my son and Moonbin enjoyed the way I do it. I don’t really need your consent Jae because as I said, I am Jung Moonbin’s father.”

Jaejoong caught red-handed. He was controlling his emotion through his clenching fist. He couldn’t get mad, not now, not in the presence of his mom and his aunty.

“I wouldn’t say sorry.” Yunho left Jaejoong and accompanied his son with the boy’s grandmothers. They were at the kitchen where they were feeding Moonbin a plate of spaghetti.

“Binnie ah. Finish everything up and sleep on the way home okay?”

It was only 5pm. As much as he wanted his son to stay with him, he couldn’t because if Moonbin stays then Jaejoong would too which was far from being possible seeing how Jaejoong acted to him awhile ago. On Monday, he will get really busy and there won’t be father and son meet ups.

“Aunty, can I pick Moonbin in Seoul this Friday?” Yunho asked as he watched Jaejoong wipe the sauce off of his baby’s mouth. “I will bring him back to you on Sunday. Can he have a sleep over here?”

“No.That won’t do.” Jaejoong butted in but his attitude wouldn’y won against his mother.

“Of course Yunho. I know that you will start your residency on Monday so it’s okay.”

“Umma.” Jaejoong whined.

“I thought it’s all set Jae?” She looked at her son, “Yunho needs his time with Moonbin and I won’t take no as answer and no buts Jaejoong.”

Jaejoong brought his baby boy on his laps and watched as Moonbin yawned tiredly at him. He kissed the boy’s nose and gently rested his son’s head on his shoulder.

“I know umma. I’m sorry.”

Yunho put Moonbin’s things on the back of the car as the trio was already preparing to leave. He saw his mom talking to Aunty Yoona.

Jaejoong stopped midway when he caught a glimpse of Yunho on their car but the weight of Moonbin numbing his arms was getting uncomfortable so he have no choice but to continue his way back to the vehicle. Yunho noticed it that was why he took Moonbin from Jaejoong who hasn’t said anything at all.

“Be careful on your way home.” Yunho said just to break the silence while Jaejoong remained silent. He gave his son a final kiss on the forehead before let go of the boy’s hand.

“I will finalize Moonbin’s papers soon so he’ll take my name and you can’t say no.”

“I’m not saying anything.” Jaejoong childishly retaliated making Yunho smile but he made sure that Jae won’t see it.

“I’m just telling you so there’s no longer an argument and well, thank you for allowing Moonbin to say with me this weekend. I’ll take care of him so you don’t have to worry and about Doojoon-”

“We’re still together.” Jaejoong cut him in but was taken aback when Yunho looked as if he was not surprised or as if he did not care at all.

“I can see that but you two have to end it soon because I did not come back to have a broken family…your umma’s coming. We’ll talk about it again.” Yunho walked towards Yoona and bid the woman goodbye.

“Wait! What are you saying, you!” Yoon hushed her son when Moonbin stirred from his wonderful sleep.

Yunho’s statement made him puzzled and he wanted to know more and dig deeper to the man’s words. His heart was beating so fast that it clouded even his mind. He hated the man’s guts but it sucks not being able to hate the man completely.

----

“How was it Jae?” Doojoon asked. His hand snaked its way on his lover’s waist as he brought the man closer to him.

They were at a park where the two decided to meet secretly. It was crazy of them to do it but this was the only way to avoid another round of scolding and more arguments from their parents’ part.

“He said that he’s finalizing the papers for Moonbin and I can’t say no to that. Moonbin deserves it… being a Jung and everything but that guy’s really crazy, asking for us to break up.” Jaejoong pouted as he rested his head on Doojoon’s broad chest.

Jaejoong pouted even more when his boyfriend only chuckled at him. “Stop it Joon…” He whined.

“I understand Yunho’s point but I can just let it happen you know. I love you so much to do that.” Doojoon cupped Jaejoong’s face and sealed the distance between their awaiting lips. It was soft and gentle just the way Jaejoong liked it. It was full of assurance but Jaejoong, deep down, can’t still help but to doubt the strength of their relationship when everyone began on opposing to including his friend Junsu who was a little unsure about the couple.

“I love you so much too Joon.”

Yoona saw Doojoon bringing Jaejoong home that night though the car stopped a little far from their house. She was watching them from the window and she couldn’t help but sigh from her son’s tactics. Don’t take her wrong, she still likes Doojoon and Yunho have a lot to prove to her and her husband but it won’t be of any help if Jaejoong’s sneaking like this to them. It was immature of his son to do it but could she blame Jaejoong when the real victim was her son?

“I’m back umma.” Jaejoong shouted from the door.

“Go take a bath and go to bed okay?” She encircled her arms to embrace her son.

“Yes umma. Good night. I love you umma.” Jaejoong smiled and pecked his mom on the cheeks.

Yoona watched her son as he childishly skipped his way up the stairs. “I just hope you won’t get hurt baby.” She whispered before walking towards the master bedroom.
