Scorpion S1E01

It's very unusual for me (or is it the 1st time ever?)... I've watched the 1st ep of a brand new tv series!
Scorpion is supposedly based on the life of a real hacker, but I went for it because the main characters form a team of nerds and because I love Katharine McPhee (Smash + syrupy songs ;) ). When I watched the trailer, I first thought it was an action movie, given the apparent fast pace, the spectacular setting and the dynamic music (staff from fast&furious took part in its creation). But it is a tv series! I like the basis concept, the mirroring concept of genius children and the opposition between the manic geniuses and the very down-to-earth character of McPhee, but I was really absurdly stunned by the non-tricky "idiotic" thingy that ultimately saved the day. I even wondered if it was the single strike of humor in this very serious (epic-music-validated serious!) show! I'm still curious though so I'll watch some more, but I do hope it'll get a lil' more realistic (we're talking geniuses so reality is a bonus, but still, that non-twist killed me) and maybe funny, though it doesn't seem to be this kind of show (someone qualified it of "Big Bang theory without humor").
Now I'm off to watch the new Marvel Agents of SHIELD :))))
