hey speaking of okc have you heard of crazyblindddate.com? would you consider trying it?

its one of the products I'm working on now but we can't try it ourselves since it's not in atl, tho my partner and I joked we'd probably get the 2 guys who are on the assignment too if we could go

I have made about 8 different attempts on crazyblinddate.com so far. None of them established a date for me. Hell, it took me a few tries just to figure the damn thing out, and I made web applications for a living! I don't think people are using it simply because the barrier to use it is so high.

There are also parts of the bay area that simply aren't covered. Like where I live, North Bay. Then again, you can't take public trans into north bay which discounts most of the rest of the area.

Has there been an attempt to even playtest the site?

Also, doesn't work on the iPhone and likely not any other mobile device for creating a date. This site is the absolute reason for mobile phone web applications, yet won't work.

I love the idea though, but it's just not a good implantation of it.

wow. ok. I went through the 'Boston' site as far as I could without actually signing up. we haven't heard any glowing reviews nor been able to find accounts anywhere of a successful date (by successful, I mean, where 2 people actually met each other)

I'm not actually connected to them, this is just spec. I know they 'test' launched the site in Austin before opening it up in other cities, and that there were some technical problems.

it's a really good point about the iphone and mobile devices, though. thanks for sharing your experience .. or lack thereof.

Test is not the same thing as Playtesting.

Testing/Beta Testing is 'lets get out all the bugs and wonkiness'.

Playtesting is not hunting for bugs. It's identifying general design problems and workings of a site by using people who are virgin to the project completely. Of which the site completely fails at.
