so i saw the panics tonight - this band from perth.
hell cool, liked it.
s'funny when you go see a band...
and,
like their name was familiar, but i couldn't think
of any songs that they did. but then.,,
they played ones that i did know! s'always weird.
but the best bit was the end when they played a long instrumental number.
all night the main guy was singing and also another guy was too, higher harmonies.
but guy #1 - main guy was singing low and quiet so his voice was at the same frequency
as the guitars and keyboard and didn't cut through (wasn't EQ'd right?) and was also quiet
on a cranked up mike, feeding back etc.
guy #2 - backup dude, he sang higher parts which cut through the mix better, and he sang louder
on a different type of dynamic mike but he moved away from the mike a bunch so it was mad hollow and
couldn't hear him, sound guy cranks the fader, feeds back. etc etc
so...
when that stopped and they played an instrumental at the last bit...
it was reeeally amazing.
i was talking near the start
but then i stopped and just
rocked out.
so katherine said that she had that song on CD so i could borrow it, that and the somersault (summersalt?) dvd.
i'm loving movies right now, i could watch em all day. but tomorrow i think i'll just sleep instead.
