"I'm full of myself because I'm short!"
My sister is awfully silly sometimes. The above was from a conversation we had tonight during dinner about whether or not she was conceited. *sigh*.
She's also weird and hormonal for some reason. All I hear about from her is boys boys boys. Well, boys and annoying people.
Oh, right, I was supposed to tell her that one of her friends called. Can't remember which one. Oops.
Parents and sister are upstairs watching "Shakespeare in Love". I missed the beginning of it, so I missed the point where I got to know the Main Female Character so that I cared about her BEFORE she started talking about Twu Wuv. Or maybe, considering the title, I wouldn't have enjoyed it much anyway. It's not that I OBJECT to love...I just really, really want a main plot that isn't ABOUT love. Possibly because I associate romance stories with quivering wenches and big, muscle-bound lunkheads.
And, on a tangent, why the hell do girl's magical powers always involve fairies or sparkles and crystals or whatnot, and guys get cool weapons, like swords or mecha? (Okay, some girls get mecha too, but the boy's mecha is always cooler/more special/etc).
I'd follow this on another tangent, but this is beginning to turn into a list of "Why I Hate Being Female". And while being female DOES suck sometimes, I really wouldn't prefer being male. For one thing, girls are rarely compelled to eat things used in a science lab, and I've seen boys snorking down leftover electrophoresis gel like candy. And then there was my chemistry partner last year, who repeatedly asked me if he could eat the products of the experiments. I no longer wonder why my science teachers feel compelled to write "do not ingest substance" on the lab instructions.
