“Cassie, come back here!” Peggy Burdick shouted, but Cassie didn’t listen, running out into the rain and dodging her way across the street. She ran and ran until she was soaked with rain and sweat and couldn’t run any longer. She dropped to her knees with a little splash of mud and beat the ground with her fists. She screamed as loudly as she could and tried not to cry.
The rain stopped falling on her, but she could still hear it. And something warm and dry was being draped around her shoulders. The Vision stood there with an umbrella - where had he gotten an umbrella? - and looking oddly naked without his cape.
Cassie pulled him down with her and buried her face in his shoulder. He wrapped his arms around her and held her until the storm died around them.
