Like any proof was necessary.
In thermal physics a blackbody is an 'ideal absorber' which means that it absorbs all incident radiation. Moreover, all blackbodies with a specified temperature will emit thermal radiation with the same spectrum. Perhaps you can see why I smiled when I read that the Navajo god of fire is called 'Black Body'.
