I wanted to order a pizza, so I call up Pizza-La and order a pepperoni and bacon pizza off a copy of their menu that I have, and they tell me they are out of that kind. It's 6:45 on a Saturday evening and they are out of pepperoni and bacon? I know that pepperoni is not as popular in Japan as it is in Canada, but as far as I can remember that's the first time in my life I ever heard a pizza place tell me they were out of basic toppings. Especially when it's still before 7 pm on a Saturday night. That's like if were teaching at school and halfway through my lesson I just told the students, "Well, I don't have anything else for you guys to do for the next 45 minutes, sorry." Haven't they figured out by now how much of each sort of topping they need for a Saturday night? It would appear not. I didn't realize Pizza-La was such a half-assed outfit. I ordered from Domino's instead. Take that, Pizza-La!
