Summer Start is SO good!!
Well good news.
The “thing” I’ve been talking about for the past few weeks finally came through. My “top secret” mission has been accomplished, and I can now reveal what it was.
Before I go into it I’ll explain the situation a bit. I couldn’t talk about it freely because some people who I didn’t want to know about it yet may have read it, so I kept it quiet for a bit. On the other side, a lot of other people already knew about what was going on, and so it goes.
I have been to two interviews to work at the North Van Chamber of Commerce with Margaret this summer. I didn’t want word about it to spread too much because, well, even now I still haven’t told my manager. But whatever, on my second interview earlier this week I got offered the job, and of course, I took it. So I wanted to tell my manager as soon as possible, because the job starts as soon as I come back from Mexico. But it turns out she went to Calgary this weekend, so I guess she’ll have to find out when she comes back, likely, the day just before I leave to Mexico…
Good news for S-Bux: I am not planning on leaving…. But I am lowering my availability to only one or two shifts a week. After all, I also want to have fun this summer!
Good news for me: I got a job that is more interesting, pays better, is related to my career, and, well, it will allow me to grow as a person… something I have not been able to do at S-Bux ‘cause I’ve been there for over a year with nothing new to learn!
So I am excited about that. I am so happy… and I don’t care if people at work know about it now. My manager will find out soon enough anyways!
And even better?? I go to Mexico in less than four days!! The joy! This is definitely starting out as a great summer!
