So...after I was gone on my multiple vacations, I kind of inadvertently ended up taking an LJ hiatus. 8D Yeah. I guess I was just kinda busy.
Anyway, I had an AMAZING time in San Diego at Comic-Con. Like, seriously. It was ridiculous. I'm not gonna re-tell everything because that would probably fill up seven pages or so, but yeah. In short, Megan, Gazelle, and I drove down from Los Gatos (where Gazelle lives--it was her car) to San Diego, which, for anyone who is unaware, is roughly an eight hour drive. YEAAAAHH long car rides. But we survived. We finally got there and met New York kids that Megan had been friends with on dA for awhile, and we all got along really well and had a grand old time. Tara was actually there because she's getting a graphic novel (I think?) published with Slave Labor Graphics, so we spent a fair amount of time around their booth. The only panels I went to were Dr. Horrible and Chowder/Flapjack...I kind of wanted to go to more, but due to this being my first Comic-Con I didn't really know how the waiting line system worked..or where things were. XD Ah well, it was a learning experience. OH and speaking of Dr. Horrible, I got Neil Patrick Harris and Joss Whedon's autographs. 8D I still can't get over that.
After Gazelle and Jon (her boyfriend, who lives in San Diego) had an unfortunate beach adventure where both of their phones got fucked up, we left San Diego on Sunday and drove to Anaheim to go to Disneyland :D !!! Which I thought was really cool because I hadn't been there since I was five, and so I had never been on any of the major rides.
Gazelle and I drove back and she got food poisoning from a cup of tea (yeah. We're still confused.) and I was home...for a day and a half. Dylan and I left for my grandparents' which was really nice. Nothing too eventful, but fun. We played a lot of King Oil (best boardgame ever.), watched random movies including Starship Troopers and Mr. Nice Guy (My grandpa, my brother, and I all have the same sense of humor; my grandma was just like "...This is really dumb."), walked around a lot of beaches, saw a play, went to a botanical garden, and took blowup boats down a river.
Since getting back I've basically been trying to get everything ready for college ( D:) and moving into a dorm. With some success. I've also had an intensely crazy dental appointment and went to go see Emo! the Musical in San Francisco which was AMAZING and hilarious. If I can see it again I totally am and am bringing anyone I can with me. XD I went with a group of like..14 people, and we took up most of the audience. (It is a TINY theater.) We talked to some of the cast afterward, who were totally overjoyed that we liked the show so much, and I got most of their autographs. Again..yeah, if anyone vaguely local who's reading this wants to see it or wants info about it, their website's
here and I am totally up for it again.
Back to college stuff though...faughhh I'm moving in in four days. :0 ...hopefully. I still haven't gotten any information about where I'm living on campus or who my roommate is or whatever, but I've called the Residence Life office and left a message sooo I'm hoping that will all get straightened out. Mreh.
OH HEY. If you like fantasy books and want to hear me talk about them for nine minutes....
check this out. 8D I'm entertaining; I swear. Before I edited all my video it was sixteen minutes long D:
