And A Rock Feels No Pain, and An Island Never Cries

So over a week ago, school ended forever. At least as an undergraduate. Now it's about the future. I'm applying for a teaching job at a high school here in Tallahassee. I really hope I get it, I want to stay with Pastel.

They need their art teacher to be able to teach photography, and that is a weakness of mine. Thus, I have signed up for a photography workshop, which will take place Tuesdays from 5 PM to 8 PM. I asked the lovely Ashley K from Pastel to take the workshop with me, and she wholeheartedly agreed. Yay! Classmates! At last count I think there were four or five people in our class.

I've had a photography book for a while so this weekend I've been reading up on stuff. The inner workings of the cameras mechanisms = interesting.

I'm talking to a couple girls right now, but nothing seems to be going anywhere. I can't seem to establish a more than superficial connection with any of them. I assume due to my minuscule social abilities.

I did the craziest thing last week though. I walked up to a girl and talked for a second and then gave her my phone number, which I had previously written on a slip of paper with my name above it. I've never "picked up" a girl before. It was such a strange experience.

With the Miami Heat's World Championship win early last week, it marked the end of television for the summer. The useless thing has been banished back to the den room closet, just where it dwelled last summer. It'll help me focus on painting daily like last summer, Pastel, and photography. I'm also becoming some sort of fitness, healthy person. I'm lifting weights or running every other day now. Weird, huh?

I'm starting another new hobby in July. Fishing. I deboned my first fish today when I made dinner. I've been eating a lot healthier lately, and fish is a big part of my diet. I think it'd be pretty cool to catch, and fillet my own dinner. I haven't been much of an outdoors person, but I'm becoming more of one since Pastel's camping retreat a couple weeks ago.

Ahh, next time me and Ashley K will be able to bring our fancy new cameras and fishing poles. We have to get Jena in on the fun.

So it looks to be a fun and interesting summer. A couple new hobbies, Pastel, painting, work, and maybe the start of my career?
