And once again, we open with a special few words from one of our leads. Probably my favorite part of the recons by now.

I wonder if Loose Cannon re-shot footage for this episode too, because that sure looks like quite a wide opening pan to me.
"You killed him. You killed Jeff!" For some bizarre reason, I'm now slightly in love with that line.
"(Enraged, Lowery flies at Cory but is slapped across the face.)" That too.
Yup, they re-shot stuff. I know this is one of the only 3 serials with not a second of surviving footage, so that's the only explanation.
Marc Cory is quickly shaping up to be quite an interesting brand of badass. I really hope he either survives this story or dies *epically.*

Ah, I see, the hostile plants are, in fact, from Skaro in the first place. That explains some things.

It's kinda weird seeing Daleks in recon-style but I think they made up for it slightly by slipping in some footage from...I think The Chase?
The plants were made in Dalek labs? I find it a little hard to believe that the DALEKS would cultivate plant life but...okay, sure.

Daleks moving around a jungle...I can only assume this is from the surviving Daleks' Master Plan footage.
Holy crap. Those Varga thorns are EPIC Serious Business (no really, look at the size of those things).
"BUT. DO. NOT. WO-RRY. THEIR. SPACE-SHIP. HAS. BEEN. DES-TROYED." That may be the only time I'll hear a Dalek tell someone not to worry.
Also, Daleks forming an ALLIANCE with people? Okay, I know they did that in The Big Bang but...here? Really? I smell a fish...
Oh, you silly Daleks and your crazy obsession with Earth. You know, you're almost like the Doctor in that respect.
OH SHIT COME ON LAUNCH THE DISTRESS SIGNAL too late now you're dead.
Huh. Hartnell wasn't in it at all and yet he still got his name in the credits. Advantage of being the overall leading man, I guess.
