My Hot Water System Hates Me

The heading says it all, because it does. Anyone who's been keeping up with my journal knows that I have had issues with my hot water service. Well, now the bloody thing has decided to go on strike. Yep, you read correctly, it has stopped working. It's set so that it warms up of a night, but now when it's supposed to warm up it is doing something ( Read more... )

Water heater trouble...I know all about that...I hope it gets better! What I did when I was having that problem...I boiled a big pot of water on the stove, pored some into a smaller pot, mixed that with cold water from the shower, so that it was warm like hot shower water...and so on. Not fun, but better that than a cold shower or none at all...

Phone line :D Awesome!

I'm moving in 6 days...

We're on water restrictions as it is anyway so I've been showering every second day as it is. It hasn't been that hot and I don't smell too bad, so one more day surely can't hurt. I think it may be that I'll be getting a new hot water system, methinks. Apparently last year a couple of the other flats had theirs replaced during the winter. Mine just decided to pack it in early autumn, that's all.

Good luck with the move! Are you packed yet? Nervous?

The guy fixed the hot water system. All the electrical pieces in it had burned out so he replaced them and fixed the cause of the problem. Hot water is fine now.

Yes, we are having a drought. Most of our lakes are empty, and they estimate that in some areas there is only 2 months of water left if it doesn't rain soon. We need to have above average rainfall for almost 4 years to make up for what we have lost. Thus far the drought has lasted 10 years...
