shaking
I am awake by now b/c about a half hour ago my whole apartment started rhythmically shaking back and forth. It is still entirely up on girders. I looked out back; there was no train. So I dragged the laptop outside to get on the internet and check the usgs earthquake page. Nothing. So that was kind of terrifying. If my house falls down on me tonight, I love you all. Katie, tell mom and dad the same.
Aside from my rude awakening, I had a stellar day. Didn't have to work, so this morning I picked up MD and we headed down to vta to meet MB and Kristi and surf. Had a fantastic time. I actually managed to stand up, turn, and go down the line of an unbroken wave, all in a somewhat controlled manner. I totally won at surfing. YES. Then we went back to MD's and bbq'd and drank a little. Then MD and I came back up north and I went and met some folks for a delicious italian dinner. Then I came home and watched baseball and fell alseep b/c i'm TIRED and sunburned. This weather is warm, the weekend's supposed to be HOT, and I'm going to spend it at the beach. Except for Sunday, when I have agreed to participate in a lawn bowling tournament for charity.
Time to go inside; i'm attracting insects.
